I woke up in my bed wondering if all that was a dream as I held my hand to my head. My head throbbed as I sat up. I sluggishly walked down the stairs on a mission. To track down some Advil. I walked into the kitchen to see everyone eating dinner, and by everyone that meant including Mai and did a double take. 'So it wasn't a dream' I thought.
I walked past them and they went back to what they were doing with any words being exchanged. My target was aquired and down my throat in a heartbeat.
I sat down at the table after grabbing a plate of pasta. The whole of dinner was eatten with an awkward silence hazing the room.
"Let me get rid of the elephant in the room," I sighed pushing my plate forward. "Mai," I sighed again,"what are you doing here." Mai replied, "I came here after you used to orb. It was the choice I made."
"What choice?" I asked perplexed. "When I died, I went to the dreamscape. I stayed there until you summoned me. When I was there, Alex appeared and came to me and asked whether or not I would return to the human world. I told him yes because I missed you and wanted to be a part of the team again." Mai sighed. "Is this why your body disintegrated away?" I asked impatiently. "Yeah, actually." She smiled. "Excuse me," I muttered under my breath as I left the table and went to my room. I locked the door not wanting to see people at the moment. I just needed time to think.
