Caleb's POV

The nurse smiled as she parked my wheelchair near the small circle outside where the cars pick up patients when they're discharged.

"You excited to go home?" She asked me.

I nodded. "Yeah, just not excited about this wheelchair thing."

The nurse nodded as well. "I understand. It's only until your leg heals and after some physical therapy."

"That'll be a long while though." I mumbled.

Mom's car then came up. Dad came out of the passenger side and thanked the nurse before putting me in the middle seat.

I waved goodbye to the nurse as we pulled away. I saw a wheelchair in the trunk for me; I guess Mom and Dad bought me one.

"How ya feeling, Caleb?" Mom asked as she handed Hayley the camera.

"Okay, I guess, I'm just glad to be out of the hospital." I said with a smile.

The whole ride home was mostly questions about how I was feeling, from my family and our fans. My family made me answer fan questions from Instagram after Mom posted on all of our accounts that I was hit by a car.

I had to explain my injuries, my physical therapy coming up, etc.

When we got home, Dad lifted me into my wheelchair and wheeled me inside.

"Oh, how's he supposed to get downstairs?" Mom asked Dad when we got inside the house.

"I can carry him." Dad volunteered.

"It's fine, guys!" I exclaimed. "I can borrow some crutches Annie has when I need to go downstairs—"

"No, Caleb." Mom snapped.

I put my hands up in defeat and wheeled myself over into the living room to watch some TV.

I heard Mom and Dad in the background discussing what they would do when I needed to go downstairs.

"How about we turn our office into a bedroom for now for Caleb?" Dad suggested.

"That's perfect, Billy! We can bring up his mattress and his computer and other things and make it his temporary room." Mom agreed. "Come on, let's start. Annie! Hayley! Watch Caleb while Daddy and I do some things!" Mom and Dad headed downstairs as Annie and Hayley came down.

They just smiled at me and sat on the couch. After a few minutes though, Annie stood up and opened the door to the backyard.

"Annie, where are you going?!" Hayley shouted. "We need to watch Caleb!"

I rolled my eyes. I couldn't believe I needed to be watched; I'm almost 14 for crying out loud!

"But Hayley, I'm working on the birdhouse." Annie said.

"The wha—OH! Right, the 'birdhouse', I almost forgot." Hayley sat back down.

Annie smiled and walked outside.

"I didn't know Annie was making a birdhouse." I thought aloud.

"Oh, yes, she's been working on it since you got admitted into the hospital." Hayley replied as she played with her phone.

I decided to use my phone too, then Annie came back inside.

"The birdhouse is done!" She exclaimed.

"Can I see it?" I asked out of curiosity. Annie isn't usually the type who builds or paints things, so this made me curious.

"Okay. Come in, birdhouse!" Annie waved to her left.
