It's not about me anymore
Now I'm the one, breaking her
Her defences are high
She won't let me in
I go slowly, I try
But she shuts me out again
We would be happy
We would be laughing
But then I take one wrong steps
And we're at the beginning
I'm taking them down
One battle a time
Little by little, I'm learning
learning her kind
God knows I've done this before
And though she is the hardest shell
She is also one of those people
With whom I can lose myself.
So, I'm going, trying, slowly
For I know that I should do this
