Adira peaked her head into the bedroom to see Ammon standing at the balcony and staring out the window. The knuckles on his hands were a pale color and she instantly knew something was wrong.
"Ammon? Is everything alright?" She says sweetly. His knuckles turned white. Adira took a deep breath before walking towards him. She wraps her arms around his waist and rests her chin on his good shoulder. She tried to ignore the fact that he flinched at her touch.
"You seem tired Ammon, come to bed with me." She feels him tense up in her arms. A part of her knows something is wrong, but she couldn't tell what. If it was about his arm, the best she could do is try to ease the pain. If it was about Shafir, she could only keep them separated.
"Is that what you told Kovu two nights ago?" He says with a strong clear voice as he pulls away from her. Her body went limp with shock. Who told him?
"What are you talking about." She barely breathes out. He sarcastically laughs, shaking his head.
"That's right, you didn't make it to the bed before you started." He hissed. Her mind started racing. What did Kovu telling him? She should have told Ammon immediately after it happened to avoid any lies Kovu may have manipulated Ammon with. Her heart pounded, slowly shattering her world.
"Ammon, I don't know what your brother told you, but-"
"He told me enough. He told me that you cornered him, forced yourself on him, and when he threatened to tell me, you shoved him out a window to kill him. What more is there?" His breathing was heavy and forced. She shook her head.
"The truth. Please, let me explain."
"There's nothing left to explain Adira! How could you do something like this? I trusted you." His voice crack was enough to completely shatter her heart and world. But, she had to quickly shove it down because of the more urgent matter.
"I didn't do anything. He forced himself on me."
"Just stop with the-"
"I swear to your Gods, Ammon. I'm trying to tell you what actually happened because you believe the lie Kovu told you. Stop being so ignorant." She says calmly. Ammon fumed with anger.
"I'm ignorant? I'm not the idiot who tried to bed my brother and try to get away with it!" He yells.
"I didn't-"
"You know, Beowulf was right. You are just a filthy whore." He snaps. The moment he saw the light in Adira's eyes change he knew he had crossed the Rubicon.
(fight fight fight fight)
She shoves him over the edge of the window, holding him by the collar of his shirt. His hand held on to her wrist, practically begging her to hold on to him.
"Are you going to listen now, or are you going to keep interrupting me?" She says blankly.
"I'll listen." He tells her frantically. She tightens her grip on his shirt.
"Let me get one thing through that thick skull of yours before I start. Why would I betray you now after I've betrayed everyone I loved for you?"
"But Kovu-"
"I'm not finished. Kovu is a liar and a monster. Two nights ago, he-" she paused to take a deep breath "tried forcing himself on me. I told him to stop, but he only tried harder." She had to take a break to keep her composure. His face started to soften in sympathy for his love.
"I fought back. He tried more forcefully. It kept going like that until I eventually had to push him out the window to get him off me. I wish I could say I'm sorry, but I can't. Now, whose story do you believe? Kovu's, or mine?" The door behind her creaked open.
"Adira, what's he doing here? Is he joining us?" Kovu says mockingly. She reaches for her knife and sends it into his shirt, pinning him into the wall.
"Ammon, who do you trust?" She says looking Ammon, and only Ammon, in the eyes. He knew what he had to do.
"I trust you." He whispers. She pulls him up into the room. Kovu pulls the knife out of his shirt and points it at the lovers.
"You're kidding Ammon, right? Why would you choose to trust this Scorpion over your own brother? I raised you, trained you. All she's done is cause you pain." Kovu growls. Ammon subtly stepping in front of his love, his hand reaching back for hers. She grabbed his hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.
"If you were really telling me the truth, you wouldn't have come here tonight." Ammon says sternly. Kovu's jaw drops, realizing his mistake.
"I...she...uh-I heard you two fighting and I wanted to make sure she didn't try to kill you." He glares at Adira. This threatening and dominating glare forced her to hide behind Ammon just a little bit more. Even with Ammon in the room, she wanted to stay as far away from Kovu as possible.
"That doesn't justify what you said when you walked in." Kovu gripped the knife's hilt tightly.
"You think you're so smart, don't you Imhotep. She's a siren. She uses her beauty and charm to lure ignorant boys like you before exploiting and killing them. She doesn't care about you. I do. I-"
"No you don't Kovu. She has sacrificed almost everything for me. You-you tried to take everything from me by turning me against her. Leave. Don't even think about coming back." Adira rests her free hand gently on Ammon's shoulder.
"Ammon, you don't have to do this." She whispers. He turns around to face her.
"Ra, my love, the light of my life, I cannot let someone get away with hurting you." He turns to Kovu, "Get out!" Kovu sends the knife into the wall right next to Adira before storming out. When the echoing of the door finally stopped, she sat down on the bed on the other side of the room. Ammon ran after her when he heard the unfamiliar sound of her crying. If she had hit that point, he has done something nearly unforgivable. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't try to make things right.
"Adira? Adira, look at me." He says in a panic. She buries her face in her hands and ignores him. He got on his knees in front of her and pushed the falling hair from her face. He couldn't help but feel guilty and responsible for this. He didn't trust her, and it broke her.
"Adira, please, look at me." He pleas. He puts his hand on hers as a comfort for her. She choked on the sob she was suppressing as she looked at him from between her fingers.
"I'm sorry Adira. I-I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions so quickly. Gods, please. I know you shouldn't forgive me but, please try." He held her hand tightly as she slowly started to breathe normally again. She sat there, trying to process his apology. She tried her hardest to accept it, but there was a part of her that words couldn't heal at that point.
"Leave." She says. His eyes widen slightly.
"Why? What can I do to make this right?"
"Leave. I need to be alone right now." She repeats. He shook his head and stood up. How could she ask him to leave after what just happened? He wanted to stay, make her feel better, do anything he can to block out the rest of the world because the rest of the world didn't matter to him when he was with her.
"No! I'm not just going to leave you alone after something like that! We need to talk-"
"I said I wanted you to leave. Don't make me ask you again." She says. keeping her glare at the ground. The growing crimson stain on her shirt gave him more of a reason to stay.
"Adira, you're hurt. Let me help you." He tells her gingerly. She looks up to him.
"I can handle it. Leave." He stared at her longingly before walking over to the door. Slowly, and painfully, he opened it.
"Goodnight, my love." He says.
"Goodnight."

I have not tried to edit any part of this. This is mostly for me to get the sequence of events and the dialogue down. I still need to add the fight itself and some more detailing.
