The Dance

Adira and Ammon had brought an end to the House of Set, freeing the village surrounding the temple. The people wanted to celebrate and honor the two, and Ammon was all for the idea, but Adira wished to go home.

"Come on Adira, you can leave in the morning. They want to honor us tonight, and you wouldn't want the food to go to waste, would you?" He tells her. She sighs.

"Fine, but I leave first thing in the morning." She says, standing up and leaving the tent. He smiles and follows after her. They took a seat next to other Scorpions. The whole village was sitting around the large fire. Akil, the village leader, walks towards the group of Scorpions.

(Honoring stuff, eating and music stuff)

"Come on Adira, dance with me." Ammon says trying to pull her to her feet. She was partially surprised that he was acting like this sober, but at the same time he always acted like this.

"You go have fun with that. I'm staying right here." She crosses her arms and stares up at him.

"I can't have fun until you stand up and dance with me. Come on." He holds out his hand for her to take. She knew he wouldn't shut up until she danced, so she took his hand and stood up.

"Finally." He smiles and pulls her closer to the light.

(dancing stuff I should probably research if it is actually a thing)

The music continues playing, but the two stop dancing. Time itself seemed to stop as they locked eyes. They were the only people in the world in that moment Ammon wanted nothing more than to be close to her. It was in this moment that he realized this is where he was meant to be, with her.

She looked at him like she had never looked at anyone before. There was something about him that drew her in, that separated him from them. Maybe it was how he never treated her as a lesser, or how he always tried to make her smile, but there was thing she knew, she never wanted this moment to end.

She leans in, softly placing a kiss on his lips. He stood there, stunned for a moment before kissing back. The world started spinning around them as he wrapped his arms around her waist. She put her arms around his neck and pulled herself closer to him. It was in this one moment that nothing mattered except each other. She gently backs out of the kiss, smiling every so slightly. He continued staring at her lips.

"I-I should turn in for the night. I've got a long journey to start tomorrow." She says quickly, backing away from his grasp. Slowly, she starts walking back to her tent.

"Adira." Ammon calls to her. She turns around quickly, hoping he'd give her a reason to stay.

"Goodnight."
