Lucas POV

I'd gotten to school ten minutes ago, but I was still sitting in the parking lot for fear of what Brynn would say to me. With only 12 minutes until school started I gathered my courage and got out of the car.

I walked up to the double doors and went to my locker. I gathered my book and binder for my first class and headed off to Brynn's locker. She leaned against the hard metal, book in hand.

"Brynn," I said cautiously as I approached her.

She glanced up, eyes wide, "Just leave me alone Lucas, please just for a while."

"Brynn, please?" My eyes grew soft and I stepped closer. I saw her internal battle on her face.

"I just... Can't..." She pushed off the row of lockers and started walking away.

I grabbed her arm with my hand, "Why? You were fine and then all of a sudden you just get pissed off? You kissed me first when we were at the house, remember?"

She visibly relaxed into my touch,"Yes I remember but I met you yesterday can we try being just friends first?"

I sighed, "Ok, friends then."

"Friends," she smiled,"So friend, I'm sorry I yelled at you yesterday."

"And I'm sorry I lost control of my wolf," I whispered in reply.

"It's ok, I know you won't hurt me in control or not," she replied simply.

"I-I um what's your middle name?" I saved myself from telling my "friend" I loved her.

"Rose, how bout you?" Brynn Rose, I liked the sound of that.

"Lucas Liam, my mom had an L thing, but my dad protested having two children with double L names, so my sister is Cecelia."

"You have a sister?" Brynn asked, whoops I mentioned her.

"I do, or did I don't really know."

"Well what happened to her?" She cocked her head to the side slightly.

"It's not exactly a story I tell my friends," I replied, using her friends idea against her.

"Well, another time Lucas Liam."

The bell rang then and we went to class.

I sat down in my seat.

I didn't notice anything besides Brynn until the bell rang at the end of class.

"Dude, what did we even do today?" I asked Kyle.

"Ha that's funny, I didn't pay anymore attention then you did." He smiled and shrugged, good old Kyle.

"Eh whatever, doesn't really matter."

The day passed by in a blur, it was first period then all of a sudden it was lunch. I took a seat in my regular spot with Kyle and Taylor, waiting for Brynn to come in. When she did she sat with Lindsey and Lacey. Yeah that wasn't what I was hoping for.

"Trouble in paradise?" Taylor joked.

"You don't even know... My mate wants to be 'friends' with me now." I massaged my forehead roughly with my hands.

"Oh that kills," Kyle and Taylor said in unison.

"No kidding."

I munched my sandwich, chips, and various other things I'd thrown in this morning. At least my appetite was back.
