Brynn POV

I leaned against Lucas, my mind spinning from the sight before me. A wolf, a pack member, lie of the ground. His neck was bent at an odd angle, seemingly broken, and blood seeped from a wound on his belly. There was no movement, no breathing from him. He was dead.

The image made me nauseous but looking away seemed disrespectful. I swallowed the phlegm building in my throat. My hands balled up on I couldn't drag my eyes from his light golden face. With closer inspection many of his other bones looked broken as well, maybe he had been thrown against something to cause it.

My feet crunch on broken glass, probably from the mini storm I had created only minutes ago, as I stumbled back. Lucas's wolf form nuzzled my elbow and shifted, pulling me against him.

Wolves ran in from outside, coming in reply to Lucas's howl. Some of them shifted, like my mate, and stood looking at the dead wolf. Their naked bodies didn't faze me, as I was still in shock.

"Brynn," Luke murmured in my ear, pointing at the white wall. Blood was smeared across it, spelling out letters. A message had been left on the wall, written in the wolfs very own blood. 'Remember what happened to the Big Bad Wolf' it read, and I can almost picture the witch that had come from the house painting it there with his hands.

I doubled over a threw up on the floor, unable to bear it anymore. Lucas bent down next to me and pulled my hair back, rubbing soft circles on my back. From my point on the floor I saw silver bullets strewn around his broken body. Lucas saw them too and picked one up, wincing at it's touch on his skin.

He dropped it, letting it clatter on the floor and helped me to my feet. "Let's go get some rest, it seems we'll need it."

I nodded, not trusting my voice and let him lead me up the stairs. People started moving as we did, moving things and beginning to clean up the mess. Lucas dragged me over to the bed and searched through my bag, pulling out some fleece pajama pants and a T-shirt.

He handed them to me and I changed, not caring he was in the room. Lucas also changed and I crawled beneath the soft sheets. He pulled me to his warm chest and I felt my eyes drooping in exhaustion.

"Who was he?" I asked as sleep started upon me.

"Bryan." Lucas told me, hugging me tighter.

"Yeah... I thought so." I couldn't say I was sad, not really, but it had affected me to see his lifeless body only a few feet away. I briefly wondered what the message meant, and who it was from.

My mind, however much I though I should stay awake, pushed me deeper and deeper towards the abyss. Sleep swallowed me and I stopped fighting it, letting it drag me deeper.

Apparently my brain did not want to form itself into a dream, because instead I was forced to relive the events of that night. It began with me being called on stage, truth or dare, Triviava, the attack, and finding Bryan.

When I awoke it was still dark outside and Lucas breathed deeply beside me. A cool sweat covered my body even though cold air blew in through the open window. I pulled myself out of Lucas's arms carefully so I wouldn't wake him and padded to the bathroom.

Flicking the light on, I turned the tap on and splashed the icy water on hot cheeks. I scrubbed my makeup off my face with soap and water, having forgotten to bring makeup remover from home.
