April went crazy on me. Pacing and yelling, I was hugged a few times and slapped a few too. She turned around, her orange hair flipping in that high ponytail. "I can't believe how long you took! I was so scared. I almost called the police!" I didn't think she'd be that mad.
"Why were you so worried? It's not like there's anything I couldn't have handled." I reply confidently. She went silent, looking down at the grey rug. "What aren't you telling me? Did you find something new?" I questioned.
"No, no no no no. It's nothing, I'm just scared." She went silent again.
"April, I know when you're lying to me, what else is out there?" She didn't say anything. Her big blue eyes darted around. "April." I pressed.
"Um, okay," she sighed. "Have you heard of the foot clan?" I shake my head. What an odd name for a group. "Well, they have been terrorizing New York for a long time. The leaders name is Shredder and he's beyond terrible." She rolls up her leggings and I stare in shock at the metal that's replaced her lower leg. It's the same shape as her other leg, but obviously a form of metal. "The foot clan did this to me. Kidnapped me, tortured me-" her voice broke as she burst into tears, rolling down her leggings, she sits down on the old brown couch and buries her head in her hands. "I hate them, so much." She stutters through broken cries. I sit down slowly and carefully beside her, as if any sudden movement will shatter this poor girl beside me. My arm slides over her shoulder and I pull her into a hug.
"April... I promise we will get revenge on them. They're going to pay for what they did to you." My soothing voice, barely loud enough for her to hear through her sobs. She hugs me back and my black shirt gets wet. She clings onto me as if I'm the only source of life left on earth.
We sit there for a what seems like an eternity and she slowly drifts off to sleep. Tears staining her face.
I slowly shift my body to get up and carry her to her bedroom, covering her with the blankets. She looks so peaceful now.
I walk silently to my small room. The posters on the walls making a sound as I open the door. I change into my plaid pajamas and go to the mirror, taking off the red bandana covering my lower face. I look in the mirror at. Myself, closing my eyes and concentrating as hard as I can. I tingling on my lower face as my horrifying mouth dissapears, the bad part anyways, large 2 inch teeth, cuts and bruises formed around my mouth, all gone, finally. It takes a lot of concentration to get rid of my monster, and it only lasts for a few minutes. I shake my head and go to bed, I don't want to see myself anymore.
