Ashton: hey

Ashton: hey Thalia

Ashton: thaliaaaaaa

Ashton: I know you're reading these

Ashton: BABE

Thalia: I'm rolling my eyes

Ashton: I bet you are ;)

Thalia: well you're certainly in a happy mood

Ashton: what can I say, you make me happy :---)

Thalia: you're like a reverse Pinocchio

Thalia: the happier you get, the longer your nose becomes

Ashton: can I call you?

Ashton: I want to hear your voice

Thalia: sure :)

Thalia POV

I was trying to seem calm, but I squealed when his contact appeared on the screen. Breathing deeply, I ran a hand through my hair nervously, then pressed answer.

"....Ashton?" I asked quietly. I heard a sharp exhale on the other line, then a nervous giggle. You could hear my heart bursting in Canada.

"Thalia! Thalia....oh my god." He was just saying my name, laughing, and I could hear his smile through his words.

"I'm so giddy. God, tell me to stop. Tell me I'm being annoying."

"No way. You're adorable." I heard him laugh after that, and then I laughed. We weren't talking, not really, just laughing at each other.

"You have a beautiful laugh. And a beautiful voice. Do you sing? I feel like you'd be a good singer." I laughed, shaking my head, and then stopped, realizing he couldn't see me. He was so interactive, he got so into whatever he was talking about, it was like he was really here.

"No...I've never really tried."

"I'll teach you when we meet. Or Luke, maybe. He's better at that sort of thing. And Michael will teach you to play guitar, and Calum will teach you bass, if you don't already know. And I'll teach you drums. You'll be the best drummer in the world when I'm done with you. Like a one-woman band. You'll be so cool."

"When we meet?"

"What do you mean?" His voice had dropped a little, like he was disappointed. He let out a little huff. "Don't be ridiculous. We're gonna meet, soon hopefully. It'll be the best day ever." I laughed again. He was right, he was so giddy.

"Why are you so excited?"

"I don't know... I had a late night. I got a song idea."

"Really? Oh my god, you have to let me hear it!"

"No, no, it's just an idea. I'll let you listen to it when I finish." I sighed dramatically when he said that.

"Come on, just a little of it?"

"You're so annoying." He said, dragging out his words. His accent was so prominent.

"Uh..." He paused, humming. Then he continued, quietly singing. "I guess I was running from something... I was running back to you... lost here in London, I'm still running back to you..." He hummed out a tune to the rest of what must've been his chorus, without words. Then he laughed. "I don't know the rest of it yet. I just sort of thought of that..."

I was quiet. In shock.

"...do you like it?" I smiled. Then, remembering what he had hummed, I mumbled, to his tune.

"If you could love me again, I could let go of everything...." He gasped. I ended the call, cheeks flushed and hands shaking. God, that was so sappy. I shouldn't be imposing on his perfect song. He was such a great songwriter, and it wasn't my place to be adding on to his beauty and messing it up. It wasn't fair to him. It was wrong of me too impose. Aware of my failure, I turned off my phone, and with guilt, showered and went to bed.

Ashton's POV

How the fuck....

I finished the entire song that night, with help from Calum.

A/N
So they finally talked! And also Outer Space/ Carry On was written. That's one of my faves from SGFG. I guess the time period right now is right before slfl started...? Idk. I actually don't know which one is my absolute favorite from the album. It changes. It was Girl Who Cries Wolf for a while, then Waste The Night, then San Francisco. Who knows. Anyway, I might go to bed now haha, it's almost midnight. Night xo
