"Where am I? Who are you?" I asked the blonde boy in front of me.

I started shaking with fear as I looked up at the blue-eyed boy who had caught me.
He had curly hair that somehow fell perfectly, despite him trying. He had freckles spanning his entire face. He was breathtaking. And he scared me half to death.

"You're in the Solace family castle. I'm Will." He told me calmly.

I gasped.

Prince William. They were going to kill me, or torture me in the dungeons.

I scrambled to my feet, terrified of what the prince would do with me, but my head pounded and I felt my legs shake and give out. I shut my eyes tight as I started to fall, but before I hit the ground, a pair of strong, but gentle arms wrapped around me, yet again. I opened my eyes to see the Prince's worried eyes as he held me steady in his arms.

"Be careful! You aren't ready to move around much yet. I fixed your wound but your head is still adjusting. Are you alright?" He asked frantically.

I was confused.

He had done the bandages? Why would he help me? Shouldn't he want me dead? In his eyes, I'm a rotten thief.

"I'm fine." I mumbled, looking down.

"Well, you obviously aren't fine. You were unconscious when you arrived. They said that you were terrified in those woods, what happened?" He asked, setting me back down on the bed.

I winced at the memory. I didn't want to tell him, but for some reason, something told me that I could trust this boy with my life.

Something told me that he really cared about me. That was a foreign concept to me. He looked at me with kind, but confused eyes.

"It-it was dark, and I'm scared of the dark. My sister was supposed to find me, but your guards found me first. They blinded me with a flashlight then tied me up. They shoved me at some point and I fell and hit my head on a root or a rock. Then they gagged me and threw me into the carriage, but I don't remember anything after that..." I trailed off.

He looked at me, wide-eyed. Then, before I knew what was happening, he was pulling me into a hug and I was crying into his shirt. I knew it made me look weak, but I felt weak at the moment. In those short few moments in the woods, I had been scared out of my mind.

The prince rubbed circles on my back, and whispered condolences. This took me by surprise.

He was supposed to think I was horrible. He was supposed to hate me. He was supposed to shove me away from him and spit on me. But he didn't. For some reason, this made my chest fill with warmth.

"It's alright, you're safe now. I won't let them hurt you anymore." He whispered.

I looked at him with tears in my eyes.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

He looked at me in utter confusion.

"For what?"

"Stealing. It was just that-"

"Shh...hey, you don't have to tell me why you stole right now. Why don't we take you to your room so you can get some rest, is that okay?" He asked me kindly.

I nodded, too tired to argue with him at the moment. I would talk to him more when my head cleared up a bit. He started humming a lullaby as he carried me through the castle halls in his arms. Within moments, I felt like I could sleep forever

"Goodnight, Sunshine, sleep well."

(A/N ugh I'm so sorry this one is really short. Oh whale. I tried.)

You are so glorious, darling!
