(A/N don't even bring up my Google searches. I know they're weird. You know they're weird. WE ALL KNOW I AM STRANGE. Now onto the story:)

WPOV:
I heard the rustle of bushes and turned, stopping my horse. Nico tensed and I tightened my grip around him protectively.

"Who's there?" I called out.

There wasn't an answer. I was about to set off again when a rope was thrust out and encircled my horses front legs. (A/N no the horse will not get hurt. I'm not that mean.)
I grabbed Nico and jumped off and my horse before it fell to the ground. We rolled off and I pulled Nico's head to my chest so it wouldn't get shaken around more than necessary. When we stopped I looked up to see a girl around my age holding up a dagger. She had a muscular build and was (as much as I hate to admit it) probably much stronger than me. She had dark, long hair that was pulled to the side in a  braid.

"Identify yourselves." She growled.

I stood up as Nico whimpered in pain. His knee had hit the ground when we had jumped and was causing him to seriously hurt. I glared at her.

"You hurt him. His knee is shattered." I growled back.

She squinted her eyes at me.

"Identify yourselves." She repeated.

I scowled but obeyed.

"Nico di Angelo and Will Solace." I admitted.

Her eyes widened for a split second before resuming her look of intimidation.

"The prince and the thief? What an odd pair." She laughed coldly.

"What do you want?" I asked, getting tired of this."

She shrugged.

"I need a horse."

"So do we. Nico can't walk."

I glared at her. She smiled.

"Take me with you then."

"The horse will only fit two people."

She hesitated then grinned.

"Then I guess one of you has to get left behind."

She looked over at Nico and raised her dagger higher.

"No! Don't hurt him!" I shouted, pulling him closer.

He was shaking with fear, but wasn't quite to the point of having a panic attack.

"Take him with you." I told her, "The horse knows how to get him to his cottage. Once he's there, you can take the horse and go wherever you want with it."

I sighed in defeat. Reyna smiled.

"Deal." She started to cut off the horse's ropes and Nico turned to look at me.

"Will, no! Please! Don't! Let me stay with you!" He pleaded.

I shook my head.

"I'm sorry, Nico. If you stay and walk it with me, then you won't get home by dark."

He started to argue more when Reyna stopped him.

"Who said I was letting you walk it?" She asked.

My eyes widened and she took Nico into her arms and set him on the horse.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean. I can't risk you following me." She snarled and approached me, dagger in hand.

Nico yelled and screamed at her to stop. But it was too late. Pain exploded through my stomach. She pulled the dagger out and wiped off the blood. I sank to my knees in pain as the thick, warm liquid flowed from the place she had stabbed me.

I looked up through tears to see Reyna climb onto the white horse and gallop away with Nico sobbing and screaming hysterically in front of her. I gave him a weak smile before the blood loss weakened me and I was forced into a black slumber.

(A/N no he's not going to die I promise)

"I just keep running into you, don't I?"

My eyes fluttered open and I saw Lou Ellen standing there with a kind smile.

I said something really intelligent that went along the lines of: "Whaaaa..."

She just laughed.

"So where's you lover boy?" She asked.

Nico.

I explained to her what had happened. She didn't seem shocked.

"We have to go save him!" She shouted at me.

"But my stomach..." I mumbled.

"Is fine. I stitched it up an hour ago and gave you pain-reliever potion half an hour ago. Come on!"

She tugged my arm and pulled me out the door out to where she kept her horse. She jumped on and looked at me expectantly.
Well. Looks like there isn't a downside to this so far. I climbed on she shouted.

"Let's ride! Yah!"

One thing to know about Lou Ellen's horse-it was fast. So fast I had to reach around Lou Ellen and hold the reins just to be sure I wouldn't fall off. But the positive was that meant we reached Hazel's house in only 15 minutes. I rushed up to the door while Lou Ellen tended to her horse.

I knocked Hazel opened the door with a gasp. I hadn't said anything before she pulled me inside and dragged me into a bedroom and kicked open the door. She shoved me inside and left the door open for Lou Ellen.

Gee, hello to you, too.

I heard a sniffle and turned around to see Nico. He was facing away from me on his bed sobbing silently into his pillow.

"Go away, Hazel!" He cried.

I approached him slowly.

"Nico, it's me."

He spun around slowly and gasped. He stared at me for a moment before I tackled him in a hug.

"Will! You-You're alive!"

I laughed.

"Yeah, I guess so."
