"Well, that's the best part. Will can choose a bride." He announced happily.

My heart shattered. Everyone stared at him in awe.

"Dear-" Mom reminded.

"Yes, I'm aware. Yet, I still think this will truly be best for him. Will needs to marry a woman."

That was too much to take sitting down.

"Father!"

I was going to lose Nico.

"Your highness, please!" Bianca pleaded, standing with me.

"Silence!" He bellowed.

Bianca ran out of the room, crying.
My father looked over at Nico.

No.

"And as for you, I think it'd be best if you spent some time in the dungeon. Guards!"

No!

Everything went so fast. My mother and I started screaming at my father. My father argued back. Guards came and grabbed Nico. I ran over to save him when more guards grabbed me. They shoved me to the grounds and I started sobbing, knowing I wouldn't be able to save Nico before they threw him into the darkness.

The guards threw me in my bedroom. The guards simply threw me inside and locked the door. I tried the doorknob but it was no use. I was trapped. I could hear Nico's screams of fear from the bedroom. I have to save him. I promised I would. I wasted no time. I rushed to the emergency exit in my bedroom. It was difficult to access since it was hidden under my bed, but it wasn't impossible. Adrenaline built up inside me and I pushed the bed aside with relative ease. I lifted up the metal door and jumped down the escape into the laundry. Maids quickly gathered around me. I brushed them off and sprinted at top speed towards the dungeon. I could hear Nico's sobs getting louder I threw open the dungeon's doors, punched the guards, knocking them out, then I grabbed their keys and raced down to the cell that Nico was in.

Before I did anything I turned on the light. Then I unlocked the cell door. He was curled up against the back wall, bloodied and bruised, likely from them throwing them inside. I scooped him up in my arms and ran and ran and ran. I didn't stop running until I was in my medic office. I grabbed a bag and threw equipment in blindly. I grabbed food from the fridge and threw it in. I also grabbed a few blankets that I carried over my shoulder. Then I ran out of the palace gates as they started to shut. I kept running until I came to the woods. I set all of my equipment down and just held Nico.

Poor, innocent Nico. He deserved so much better than this.

The small boy cried into my shirt. I rubbed his back as tears of my own slid down my cheeks.

What are we going to do now?

Nico started whimpering and I looked at the sky.

Was it really already sunset? Oh my gods, Nico. I'm so sorry.

"Shh, get some sleep, Nico. I'll wake you up when it's bright again, so you won't have to see the darkness, alright?"

He nodded and I started quietly humming the same song I had hummed when he's first came. It was only a day ago, but we'd been through so much, it felt like longer. His eyes slowly fluttered shut and I breathed out a sigh of relief.

Crisis avoided for now. Now we just have to hope he won't suffer from any more nightmares...
(A/N heh heh so this chapter is slightly longer than my last one...but it's till short.)
