I hadn't seen Avi in... Well, a few lifetimes.
You see, we all died in 2018. Our plane blew up- engine malfunction. Everyone on the small aircraft (mostly us and our crew) died.
Everyone's souls were put in their places. Kevin went straight to heaven. It didn't even take half a minute before he was brought back to his rightful place.
Same for me... but in the other direction. No one could honestly claim me, Mitch, an angel. Sure I could be nice at times... but damn, it felt good to be bad.
Everyone else was reincarnated.
One lifetime, and most of the crew was in heaven.
Two more lifetimes, the rest of the crew was in heaven.
Another lifetime, Esther and Jonathon were in heaven.
Fifth lifetime, and Scott was in hell. This one was hard for me. Yah, I loved him, but he was an angel. He fell hard and fast for me, and fell into temptation. He didn't deserve to be here.
Another two lifetimes and Kirstie and Jeremy are together in heaven. Seven lifetimes, and they always found each other. Their love redeemed them.
Life.

Eleventh life now. There was a... crack. I don't know how to describe it- it was just a flash of light and a crack like thunder. Darkness fell over the lowerworld.
Life.
Life that ends, and light is restored in the lowerworld. New souls come rushing in, i recognize one in the stream. He doesn't see me, I don't see him. I just feel that he's there.
"... didn't think I'd ever see you here, either. Thought you were headed to the pearly gates for sure." I flirted with him.
Avi laughed, and spun me around so I was facing him.
"Maybe I was headed there... I don't know. I missed you though. Thought I'd better check in, before starting the whole vicious cycle again."
He was silent for a moment. I reveled the closeness. This is what I'd missed. This is why I'd almost reincarnated so many times.
"Everyone's good in heaven. Nicole almost got sucked down here in her last incarnation, so she's playing it safe for a bit. Tyler and Troye ended up there, although they're not really accepted that much."
"Scott reincarnated... I haven't seen him since. I think he ended upstairs. He deserves it though. No one's really down here though. A lot of reincarnation lately... Everyone's going up." I mused.
His hand stalled in my short sheared hair, before starting again with am almost harsh pace.
"Why don't you? You've been here for what, thirteen lives? How many years is that?! You should be up there again!" He cried out.
I bit my lip, looking down. My forehead resting on his chest made me want to cry.
"I don't want to ruin anyone else." I whispered.
