Okay so this is my first fanfic so feel free to comment any thoughts you have along the way. Let me know what you think 😊
PS. I don't own Fairy Tail or any of its characters, as nice as that would be though.

(General Point of view)

Lucy slowly walked into the guild, it was a bright and sunny day, all of Magnolia seemed to be taking in the normally interrupted peace. Lucy sat down on a stool in front of Mira, who was tending the bar as always. Mira looked at the wizard before her and her heart ached. Lucy...Mira thought to herself. Her eyes are empty and so red and swollen from crying, her face is sunken in, her golden hair and porcelain skin has long lost it's shine, her clothes that once clung tightly to the curves of her body, now hung aloof and her once beautiful smile, though clearly showed on her face had lost all it's warmth. Mira shook herself from her thoughts and set a rather large plate of food in front of Lucy in hopes of being able to convince her to eat.

"Mira, I have plenty of food at my house you don't have to feed me."

"It's a new secret recipe that I've been working on, everyone has been so busy on missions lately that I haven't had the chance to make it for anybody yet. But you'll taste it for me won't you, I won't even charge you since you're my guinea pig and all" Mira asked, her eyes pleading with Lucy's.

"Alright Mira, you're a great cook so I already know it's going to taste perfect." She picked up her spoon and took a big bite. Mira walked away slowly making sure she at least finished that first bite. Mira stood in front of Levy now who was sitting at the other end of the bar reading a book, Gageel standing nearby as always. She looked up catching Mira's gaze and nodded.

"I'm worried about her too" she sighed as they both turned and glanced at the girl slowly eating her food.

Lucy forcibly finished the last bite of food that Mira placed in front of her then turned in her chair and glanced around the guild with a momentary glint of sadness in her eyes. I can't believe it's already been so long since I joined Fairy Tail. She smiled faintly as she tried to take in the laughter and rowdiness that usually filled the guild. Elfman and Evergreen were sitting at a nearby table and she was telling him about the mission that she had returned from with the Thunder Legion. He interrupted her, much to her annoyance, often with a 'Manly' comment. Erza walked in and settled down in a seat at a table where Gray was eating and Juvia was locked tightly around his arm. She immediately ordered the sweetest cake on the menu. Lucy's eyes scanned the guild some more, she could barely hear Macao and Wakaba arguing over who was studliest Cana sitting between them with a large barrel of alcohol between her legs. Even Laxus, Bixlow, and Freed were sitting comfortably on the second floor of the guild smiling. At a table nearby Wendy, Charle and Romeo were planning their next mission. Her eyes continued over her guild mates, and Natsu, her gaze paused, Natsu was sitting with Lisanna, Happy perched on his shoulder eating a fish. They were discussing their mission from yesterday. My heart aches to seeing those three as teammates. Her eyes began to fill with sadness, but she could see the smile on their faces and though only for a moment it made her smile.

Suddenly Lucy stood up and quietly walked over to the job request board. The guild grew quiet as they watched in awe and someone piped up just enough courage to whisper "Lucy's doing jobs again?" as she stood looking at the board. Her mind drifted. I haven't gone on a job in months so I'm a few months behind on my rent, so I better pick a job with a higher reward. At least enough to get me through next month. Thought Lucy to herself. When she finally found a job that suited her needs she tore it off the board and handed it to Mira.

Mira looked into the girls big empty eyes "Oh well that's just lovely, are Natsu and Happy going to join you as well?" she said hope clinging to her voice.

Lucy turned and looked at the table that her partners were occupying. "No, I'm Going alone." She said firmly. She turned back around and smiled faintly at the Wizard. "It's not a hard job, and besides Natsu's pretty busy" she grabbed the job request and headed towards the door. "I'll be back in a few weeks, don't worry"

Natsu jumped in front of her and grabbed the job request out of her hands.

"Finally going on a job I see" he smiled "You've been real lazy the past few months, I bet that landlady of yours is on your back something fierce, so where are we going" He smiled warmly at her.

"I know you're there" Mira said quietly

Loke appeared next to her and adjusted his glasses

"You have to protect her now more than ever" Mira said with a quiet harshness in her voice

"This job is no big deal, so I'm just going to go alone." Lucy grabbed the job request back and continued past him out the door leaving him standing there confused.

"I'm a valiant knight I exist only to serve and protect her in any way, as if I would let any harm come to my princess." He adjusted his glasses again and faded into a ray of warm golden light.
