Broken {Completed}

Can't Say Goodbye.

I walked over cautiously to Lucy. She still wasn't moving. Her magic was pulsating off her body. "Is she waking up Natsu?" Levy asked approaching with the others. "I don't know. She's still not moving. I can hear her heartbeat though." Master came and put a hand on my shoulder. "We'll gather the injured and take them to the infirmary. We'll set up a special place for Lucy to rest until she's finally ready to wake up." I gave him a nod and scooped Lucy up carrying her to the infirmary.

*3 days later
Lucy still hasn't woken up, and her body is still pulsating magic power like a heartbeat. "I know you're tired Luce, and I want you to rest but please, please come back to me." I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly. "Anything?" Levy asked walking into my room. I shook my head without looking away from her. "Natsu why don't you get some rest? If you keep going like this you won't be able to protect her if that dark guild comes back." I looked down at her and reluctantly stood up still holding her hand. Just as I was about to leave I changed my mind and crawled into bed with her causing Levy to blush. "I'm not leaving her side." I grumbled immediately falling asleep to Lucy's sweet scent.
*several hours later
After several hours I'm awaken from my sleep from the lack of magic energy in the air. I frantically jumped out of bed causing Levy to jump from her sleep. "Natsu what's wrong?" She asked panicking. "Her magic isn't pulsating anymore!" I put my ear to her chest and could barely make out a fading heartbeat. I looked back at Levy tears in my eyes. "Her heartbeat is fading!" Levy's face paled and she quickly ran out of the room. Returning just as quickly with Wendy, Laxus, and the master. Wendy immediately got to work while Laxus used his electricity to manually pump her heart. After 10 minutes the rest of the guild had arrived, but Wendy's spell stopped. "Why did you stop!" I grabbed her shirt angrily. "Natsu my...my...my magic wont work on..." she paused and looked at Lucy sadly no! "The dead." She finished. Levy cried hysterically while Gajeel comforted her. "No! This can't be! You were supposed to save her!" She screamed.
The spell should have worked. My entire body quickly engulfed in flames as rage poured out me. "How could I have failed her!" I screamed.

(3rd person POV)
"Gray! Juvia!" Master shouted. They wiped their tears and nodded in understanding, attacking Natsu with water and ice waiting for him to calm him down. Eventually he fell to the ground having run out of energy and magic. "It brings me great sadness my children but we must prepare for the loss of our dearest family member." Master cried out. The rest of the guild continued crying and moved slowly to begin the preparations leaving Natsu lie. By the end of the day all the preparations had been made, and Natsu had finally awoken. He stood up shakily and walked slowly to the now surrounded Lucy. Everyone cleared a path for him with sadness in their eyes. Natsu dropped to his knees beside her and cried furiously. "I'm sorry I failed you Luce." He wrapped his arms around her lifeless body and pulled her into a tight hug crying even harder. When he finally calmed down he brushed her bangs out of her face and leaned in hovering over her lips. "I can't say it! I can't say goodbye!" He stormed off, his body again engulfed in flames.
