(3rd POV)
After a few hours Natsu woke up in the infirmary. He rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes then remembered what happened. He jumped out of his bed and ran down the stairs. There he saw everyone standing over a map arguing. When he reached the bottom step everyone stopped and looked at him.
"Natsu we have a plan, please listen." Levy dangled the the key to get to Lucy in her hands. "Then I will give you this."
Natsu glared at Levy then quietly complied, walking over to the table. "So what's the plan" he growled.
"Okay so since Lucy's life has been woven into the celestial world, it may be a little harder to get to her even with this key. That being said, if you were to try and use it in a place that means a lot to the both of you, then that should help boost your chances of success." Levy said only pausing to take a breath. "So you need to think hard Natsu, think about all the places the two of you have been and everything you've been through. Then decide on the most meaningful location. Juvia, Gajeel, Erza, Gray, Wendy, Lily, Happy, Charle and I are all going to accompany you to this spot, just in case anything happens. Jellal is going to meet us there, he says he has some new information to share, while Meredy and Ultear are currently heading here to give the Master the information." Levy paused and handed Natsu the key. "Where are we going Natsu?" She asked determination lacing her words.
Natsu looked Levy in the eyes and without hesitation "Hargeon."
"Hargeon?" Are you sure?" Gray asked.
Natsu glared at Gray. "It's where I first met Lucy, where she told me her dreams of the future. Where I first started to fall for her." Natsu spoke softly.
"How can you be sure that Lucy feels the same way about it though?" Juvia asked.
"Because her final memory wasn't just my scarf, if was the first time she saw me in the town square of Hargeon." Natsu replied.
Gray rested a hand on Natsu's shoulder. "Then let's go, we already packed for the trip." Natsu nodded his head and they all headed towards the train station. Everyone was worried about Natsu, he was quiet on the train as if lost in thought. Even though his face was pale, his motion sickness didn't seem to faze him as he stared intently out the window. After a short ride they piled out of the train and followed Natsu who seemed to be in a trance as he walked. Finally they arrived to the town square.
"This is it." His voice quiet and scratchy. "This is where Lucy and I first met" He paused and let out a sigh. "This is the exact spot I stood when our eyes first met." There's was a pause as Natsu looked at an empty spot a few feet in front of him with longing and sadness.
"Okay Natsu, you remember how Lucy summons her spirits right?" Levy asked while turning the page in a book she was reading. "Her exact words and movements?" She continued.
"Well yeah, I've seen her summon her spirits dozens of times." He replied softly
"Natsu, once you're in the Celestial Spirit world, find her spirits. They will lead you to Lucy." Levy ripped a page from her book and handed it to Natsu. "This will tell you how to perform the spell to save her." She paused and took a breath. "Now use that key just how Lucy would but make sure to say 'reverse summon' and 'Gates of the Fire Dragon and Celestial Goddess'." Natsu looked at Levy with confusion. "Those are the names of your spirit gates, we can explain more once you're back." She walked back to the book.
"Natsu, don't you die idiot." Gray mumbled while laying a hand on his shoulder.
"Make sure you bring back Bunny Girl, in one piece Salamander." Gajeel said firmly while placing his hand on Natsu's other shoulder. Everyone else slowly began to circle him.
Levy walked up to Natsu. "Make sure you listen to your heart, clear your thoughts of everything except for her." She Cupped Natsu's face causing Gajeel to growl "And remember, if you hurt my poor Lu-Chan in any way, I will destroy you Natsu Dragneel!" Everyone sweat dropped feeling Levy's aura get darker.
"Okay Shrimp, I think that's enough death threats for today." Gajeel picked her up and followed suite into the circle of friends with Gray.
Natsu took one last look at his friends who nodded in reassurance then he focused entirely on wanting to save Lucy. "Gates of the Fire Dragon and Celestial Goddess, I open thee. Reverse summon: Natsu! Lucy!" The key was enveloped in a bright gold light, Natsu screamed in pain as the light spread to his body. His friends quickly tried to reach him but were sent flying back by the light. They watched in horror as the light flowed into Natsu's veins and blood poured from his eyes and nose. Then with another burst of light Natsu disappeared leaving behind a small pool of blood.
"Did he.." Happy trailed off as tears formed in his eyes.
