The War to Come

(Meanwhile at the guild 3rd POV)
The masters face was full of confusion. Lucy loves life too much to bring war. Why would they accuse her of such a thing? "What do you mean Lucy is bringing a war, she would never do such a thing?" He asked gently.

Ultear turned to the master and frowned. "Well to be fair its not necessarily her doing, but she will be the prize. Not only her life but the fate of the world lay in the balance. When she died her magic was unsealed, her spirits managed to lock it away in her body temporarily when they saved her. Unknown dark forces have been rallying, preparing for her return. Whoever's side Lucy is on will certainly win the world."

Mira stepped out from behind the bar. "Lucy will choose us obviously, we're her friends. Her family. There's no way she would betray us."
Ultear stood firm her face only growing more serious. "There's no telling. When Lucy comes back her memories will temporarily be locked away within her own mind. It's an unavoidable side effect of everything that's happening to her. If the enemy gets to her memories before they come back to her, they can alter them however they please."

Cana set down her barrel and stood next to Mira worriedly. "So in other words they can make her forget us, or think that we're the enemy?"

Ultear nodded in response and sat down next to girls. "Lucy isn't like us. Not anymore. That spell her spirits performed, it turned her into a Celestial Goddess, courtesy of the Celestial King granting her life. The Lucy you knew died, her full potential has been unlocked and now she is a danger to even herself. She has the potential to destroy the world."
"So what are you suggesting we do?" Cana shouted. "Use her to win this war and lock her away like some criminal!"

"I don't think there's anything we can do. It's possible she may unintentionally overwhelm herself with her magic and self destruct." You could see the sadness in Ultear's eyes. It hurt her to say such thing about someone she'd grown to care about.

"Look Ur isn't saying that she should be locked up, we're simply warning you of what's to come. With Lucy's return comes war. So prepare for battle. Train. Do what you must. Because in 3 months time Natsu and Lucy will return and the war will begin.

(Natsu's POV)
We slowly approached the alter. It glistened more and more the closer Lucy got to it. Loke laid her down gently and smiled at her. "Okay Princess you remember the story I told you about the idiot fire dragon coming to save the princess?" I growled realizing that he was calling me an idiot but then smiled when I saw how excited she was. "I'm going to put you to sleep now Princess, when you wake up the dragon will have saved you and you'll return to normal okay?" He caressed her cheek gently and as she nodded in response she slowly began to sleep. After light snores were heard he walked to me. "Alright listen closely because we don't have much time. Remember your feelings have to be unwavering, focus on the strength of your love for her and the magic will follow. If she wakes up before you finish the spell not only will her memories be at risk, but her life is as well. Now I can only assume that Levy gave you the spell to save her correct?" I quickly nodded. "Good, now once you've finished chanting the spell you'll be taken to another world, it'll be just you and a sleeping Lucy. You must find her memories and lock them away in her mind. Then finish the spell. That will allow her to return to normal and both of you will return home. Do you understand?"
I nodded my head and walked over to the sleeping little Lucy. I kneeled down next to her and chanted the spell.

"I will be taking the girl if you don't mind." A deep scratchy voice growled.
