Follow You - Bring Me The Horizon
Just tell me who you!" I screamed, staring straight at those eyes I recognised, in that moment I wasn't afraid, only angry.
He cocked his head to the side, as if considering it. I hadn't actually considered the possible he would reveal himself, I assumed he was a coward who would hide behind a mask until I was dead.
"Frankly, I'm upset you didn't recognise me," he said, speaking more clearly than before.
His hand went up and ever so slowly removed to mask, to reveal someone I had never imagined could hurt me so badly.
"Mr. Rose?" I gasped. I felt the urge to be sick, I felt like everything I knew was unraveling.
"Erik, please, we're not in that ridiculous school anymore," he threw the mask to the ground.
"I don't understand," I stuttered, "you're my teacher!"
"Yes Malia, but only yours! I never wanted to become a teacher, but it's the only way I could get close to you after that horrendous woman moved you out here!" he took a step closer to me. He was speaking so passionately, using his arms to make big gestures.
"You mean my mom?" I asked, confused. The world was crashing down on me like a tonne of bricks, everything I had thought for the last two years had been wrong. I thought I was safe, that he was far away, but he had been there with me the whole time. "Have you you been watching me?" I asked.
"I thought of it as more keeping an eye on you. I could have looked after you better than she ever did. At first she let you run wild, getting yourself into all sorts of trouble, you even went to that awful place where I couldn't see you! But you were only young then, so I forgave you. Then she moved you here and locked you up, keeping you away from me whilst you blossomed into this beautiful young woman. How could she hide such beauty from the world?" At first he seemed as though he was trying to hold onto his anger, but by the end he was smiling at me endearingly.
The goosebumps along my skin were undeniable, it was like every hair on my body was standing to attention.
I wanted to shout at him and tell him it was all his fault, but I knew that would only make him angry and the only way Will and I were going to survive was to keep him calm.
He kept moving closer to me until he was stood directly in front of me and I was a shaking mess.
"It was your eyes Malia, that I first fell in love with, so big and innocent. The day we met, you were looking me in the eye, like no one ever had before. This pendant," he reached out and touched the necklace, "it reminds me of your eyes. The clearest blue I've ever seen," he smiled.
"If you fell in love with me, why did you do this to me?" I asked, a tear dripping down my face, I was so scared that I didn't even realise I was crying. I pointed down at my stomach as he sighed.
"I never had any intention of killing you, I'm a professional, I know where to hurt someone to kill them," I shuddered at this. He was so casual as he talked about murder. "I just wanted to mark you, so that everyone would know who you belonged to, because you're mine, Malia."
Before I could register what had happened he had lifted up my shirt and his fingers were caressing my scars. I froze in place, petrified.
"Don't!" Will shouted, but he was weak.
"And then you let him touch them! You let him defile you!" He was angry once again, walking as if he was going over to Will.
