Miles' POV

After I told Tristan, I didn't think I'd see the day. I was waiting for him to kill me but he didn't. He was pretty understanding like that. We hadn't really talked about anything much after. I knew he was still kinda upset but he was being pretty adult about it. I'm glad. Today was going to be a special day. Tristan wanted to hang at the park today. He wanted to be out in the snow, I guess.
Tonight we were gonna having a dinner party at my place. My dad was the mayor so it's gonna be huge. I got up from bed and seen Hunter and my dad talking beside my room. I walked up to them.

"Miles...you're up early?" Hunter said.

"You seemed surprise. Anyway, I wanted to do something christmassy..." I told him. "Tristan and I are going to the park today. He wanted to be out for a while,"

Hunter stared and me and shook his head as they both continued their conversation.

"So I signed up for the Royal Navy. I'll be sworn in tomorrow and I leave for boot camp in 5 months..." my dad turned his attention to me and nodded.

"Well, good to know. Something right you're actually doing with your life," he said with a smirk. I ignored his stupid comment because it was the holidays.
I headed down stairs and seen my mom and Frankie giggling. Frankie looked at me and smiled.

"Today is the day, brother," she smiled. I nodded happily. My mom got up and handed me the bag. I looked inside to make sure it was what I wanted.

"Thanks mom, I really appreciate this," I told her as she leaned in for a hug. She had tears of joy. I pulled away from her slowly.

"Don't cry, mom," I told her. I looked at Frankie to see her in tears as well. Well that was just great. The two out of the three most important ladies in my life throwing in the water works.

"Gahhh, stop it, you two. I'm already nervous as it is," I told them. My mom wiped her tears away and nodded. She fixed the collar of my buttoned up shirt and rested her hands on her hips.

"I love you, Miles. You'll always be my baby boy... I can't believe how mature and grown up you're becoming. I've always been proud. I've always understood...oh god...I gotta go and call the caterer for tonight, see you later," I nodded as I watched her touch Frankie's face and left. I sat beside Frankie and took a deep breath. She had the biggest grin on her face and I tell you, it was funny.

"Stop it, Frankie. You're creeping me out!" I smile at her laughing. She covered her face and shook her head.

"I'm just so excited! Today is gonna be such a beautiful day!" She nodded. She turned on the tv and we watched a little hallmark movie about a boy who is lost but finds his way home with the northern stars.

"I'm back, Bitches!" I turned back to see my best friend Winston. I stood up and ran to him.

"Chewy!!!" I exclaimed as I hugged him tightly. He patted my back and pulled away from me.

"I heard I'm having a little nephew. How's Tristan?" He asked as we went to the couch to catch up. Frankie smiled.

"Sorry babe, I kept smiling at him. I just wouldn't stop," my sister kissed Winston's cheek and waved at us as she exited the living room.

"Actually, I'm having a girl. We're so excited. And Tristan is okay. He's super pregnant. But he's fine," Winston nodded.

"And how does he feel about you enlisting?"
