You stumble off the front steps of your house, choking back tears. You run your hand across your nose and look down. Your hand is soaked in blood from your nose. You start crying, your face aching painfully. You half walk, half run, a small limp in your leg, down the street to your best friend Lee's house. You always take comfort in Lee's presence after your father abuses you.
Your father is a mentally messed up man. Ever since your mother died, he's never been the same. He's taken to drinking to take him from the pain. When he isn't drinking, he is unleashing his anger on you for no reason. Lee is your only escape.
Once you get to his house, you knock on his door. A minute goes by before he answers it. When he sees you, he pales and looks horrified. "Y/N." He breathes as you choke on a sob. He pulls you into the house and into his arms, before kicking the door shut with his foot.
"L-Lee, it was horrible." You weep violently.
"Let's go upstairs so my parents don't hear." He whispers, before leading you upstairs.
Lee and you stand in his room as he holds you in his arms. You cry against him. "I-I came home from work a little later than I said I would and he blew up on me. He thought I was leaving him. He-he punched me. He kept hitting me over and over again." You cry.
"Oh, Y/N." Lee whispers against your head, rubbing your back. "I'm so sorry. We have to do something about this. You can't go back there. I don't care what your father says, you can't live there another minute." He states.
You pull your head back to look at him and sniff, the tears slowly subsiding. "I know, I know. I don't know what to do though." You admit.
"We can explain everything to my parents. They can call the police on your dad. He can see someone to help him." He explains. "You'll need a place to stay while your dad is getting help, Y/N. You'll probably live with your grandma or someone close to you..." He trails off, biting his lip worriedly.
You wrap your arms around him a little tighter, a little more desperate. "I don't want to go with my grandma, Lee. She doesn't understand what I'm going through. You're the only one that does. I want to stay here with you." You state. A grin splits across Lee's mouth as if he was hoping you'd say that. "That is, if it's okay with your parents." You add.
"They'll be totally okay with it." He says. He shrugs. "Plus, even if they say no, you can live under my bed or something." He says, half-kidding, half-not.
You laugh. "Yeah, that'd be interesting." You say, feeling a little better.
Lee cups your face. "No matter what though, Y/N, I won't let you be alone. No matter what. I'm here for you. I always have been and I always will be. You can count on me." He says.
"I know you will, Lee. I know you will." You whisper, staring up into his eyes. He kisses your forehead softly before pulling you back into his arms. You lay your head on his chest and sigh, relieved.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
