Chapter 12: A Gentle Right Arm!

Kuroki's pov

As we were began our challenge against Uryu, he pulls out this canister claiming that it is hollow bait. "We will compete with each other to see who can kill the most hollows in 24 hours." Uryu said, "Is he nuts?!!" I stared at the Uryu, not liking where this was going. "That will endanger the lives of everyone in the town." Ichigo said, "If you both are competent soul reapers, you both won't have anything to worry about." He crushes the can and a few minutes later a hollow appears and he shoots it. "That's number one." He said, Ichigo angrily grabs his collar demanding that he undoes the summoning of the hollows. I stood back, watching things unfold. "The hollow bait is everywhere, you should be more concerned with getting rid of the hollows than fighting with me." Ichigo lets him go and Uryu picks himself up, "Hollows tend to attack people with high spiritual pressure." I realized the last time we had a hollow attack, it attacked Yuzu and Karin. Ichigo rushes off, but I stand there completely dazed. 

"Your family aren't the only ones with high reiastu." I realized there must have been other people.

So far I've killed only five, while still trying to find Ichigo. I still couldn't find him, which annoyed me. Just where could he be? "Damn it, another one." I muttered, launching myself up in the air and swinging down my sword on the hollow. I killed two more after this only, coming up to seven in total. I ended up in a field, surrounded by hollows left and right with no way out.

"Damn it, how did I was get myself cornered like this?" I asked and I raised my zanpakuto. I had no way out of this, "Damn it!" I shouted, as a hollow lounges for me. I yell out swinging my sword, killing it instantly and the hollows around me start to screech. They all attack at once and I scream out, getting piled by a bunch of them. As they pile on top trying to eat me, I'm at the very bottom holding them off with my zanpakuto. My hands and arms were starting to hurt and the pressure from all of them being on top of me was finally, making me self cautious. I pushed upwards trying to keep them off but it didn't work. My arms got tired and I failed to keep them up. They collapsed on top of me and I started thinking about how if i died, how it would affect Ichigo and Dad, and Yuzu and Karin and Mari and Kon. As well as Rukia and Ishihara. I can't leave them behind like this. I got angry hearing them screech, so close and I became more agitated as they kept snapping at me. "Stop that and get off of me!!!" I shouted and they all flew off, I felt different. I got even more angrier as they tried to pile on again, but I didn't let them get close. I swung my zanpakuto around by the end tassels and hit them all, slicing them down. I counted up to 18 in total, hopefully more than Uryu but more hollows just kept coming. I rushed over to a school yard seeing two young girls being attacked by three hollows. These girls couldn't see them so I rushed over and kicked one in the side away from the blonde girl. "Kari, what was that?" The brunette girl asked, the blonde one. "I don't know  maybe something took it down. It looks like whatever was attacking us got attacked by something else Tatsuno." Kari, the blonde one said. I sliced down the hollow, but one of the two others attacked me when i wasn't looking and bit my shoulder. I yelled out in pain, realizing that I could only use one arm now. So I switched hands, using my right hand I swung at the hollow and hit it dead on. It flew towards the other one and they collided.

They both hit the ground and got back up, charging at me. I jumped high in the air looking down to see them following me, but I was hit by another one that I didn't see coming. I flew back towards the two that were following me, but I stopped myself and kicked the one that hit me. I kicked the one on the bottom and literally kicked the last one on the back sending it hurtling to the ground. It the ground hard and it cried out, I looked down to see I had broken its leg and its arm was missing. It got angry and charged at me but I swung my sword down through its head and down its body. I killed the other one the exact same way and the last one seemed to give me more trouble than anything. It kept dodging my attacks like it knew what I was doing. I realized that I was high up in the air above the field that Karin plays on, I got distracted and was hit by the hollow and hit the ground. I groaned, "Kuro!!" I looked up, seeing Karin rush over towards me. "Karin, stay back!" I shouted, as I looked to see the hollow from before coming after me.

It saw Karin and lunged for her and I launched myself in front of her, blocking the hollow using my zanpakuto. My left shoulder began to bleed a lot more, as I continued to hold off the hollow. "Karin, what's with chad's arm?" I asked, looking to Chad. "I don't know it just grew big like that. You're hurt." She said, "I know karin, I know I'm hurt." I said, "What are these things?" I realized Karin could see them too, "They are called hollows. All they want to do is eat human souls for fun. This guy attracted them here and now we have to fight them or else they will destroy the whole town." I began to feel more pain in my shoulder. Chad was dealing with one himself. I need to find ichigo and quick. I tried to push the hollow back but my wound opened more and i felt more pain. I pushed the hollow back and sliced it in half. "Karin, stay with Chad." I said, "Where are you going?" She asked, "To find ichigo." I said and ran off.
