Chapter 138: Stop Kariya and Save the Soul Society

Kuroki's pov

I knew that Ichigo was extremely frustrated with the fact that Kariya had gotten away, not to mention, that we had no way of stopping him without him unleashing all of that energy and essentially destroying the entire Seireitei. We all wanted nothing more than to stop him once and for all but things were now more complicated, the whole Seireitei is on the brink of destruction if we don't find a way to stop him. "Where are we going now?" Chad asked, "We gotta find the Captains and let them know what's happening now. They might have a way to stop Kariya from using that crest." Ichigo said, walking ahead of us. "Kuro," Chad started, "Yes?" I looked at him, "Do you know what happened to Mitsuo after your fight with him?" He asked, Ichigo looked back slightly over his shoulder. "No, not really. Rui thought that the attack that hit him opened up a portal to their realm and sent Mitsuo back there. But he's not sure how it happened or why." I explained, crossing my arms. "So he's not coming back?" Ichigo asked, "No, he isn't. Rui's sure that Mitsuo is gone for good. He thinks that there is no way for him to come back." I said, "But he doesn't know how to get back to his own realm?" Ichigo asked, "No, he doesn't. That's why when this is over we're going to have to ask Captain Mayuri for help. As creepy as he is, he might just have a way to help him get back home. And who knows, maybe his version of Captain Mayuri might already be working on a way to bring Rui back." I shrugged, just as we turned a corner, I felt a familiar reiatsu heading towards us and I wasn't the only one. "Do you guys feel that?" Chad asked, "Yeah, it's coming straight for us. And fast." Ichigo said, "Whoa!" Ichigo stops himself from colliding with Toshihiro, causing me to nearly bump into his back. "What the hell, Toshihiro? You can't just suddenly appear in front of someone who's running! This is the second time you've done this!" Ichigo snapped, it seemed that Toshihiro had done this before. "Where the hell did you even come from?" Ichigo snapped, irritated by Toshihiro nearly causing him to crash into him. "Sorry about that. I felt Kuro's reiatsu and rushed over to see if she was okay. Where is she?" Toshihiro rubbed the back of his head, his eyes meeting Ichigo's brown ones.

"I'm right here." I poked from head out from behind Ichigo, Toshihiro immediately perked up when he saw me. When I got a good look at him, he had small scratches and bruises starting to form on his arms. It seems that he must have found Sui Feng and probably got caught up fighting the Bount she had been battling. "Kuro," I was caught off guard when he launched himself at me and hugged me tightly. "Thank god, you're okay. I was worried when I left you to check on Captain Sui Feng and I felt when your reiatsu started fluctuating." I hugged him back, his body language showed me just how relieved he was. I knew back at the hospital that he and the rest of them were worried about my health, especially since they did have to do surgery to fix my wounds. I don't think I could ever tell Dad about this, he'll literally break. "Where did you go by the way?" Ichigo asked, "Huh?" I quirked an eyebrow at him, "I ran into Toshihiro before I found Kariya at the Research Building. He disappeared after we ran into Chad and headed there." Ichigo explained, "Where did you go?" He asked, "To check on Rukia and the others back at the hospital. Rui and Ishihara still don't know that Kuro came to find you, Rukia didn't exactly tell them where she went." Toshihiro answered, "That's a good idea, I guess. Ishihara would lose it if he found out I was fighting on the front lines." I said, "But so would Renji. He was so upset with himself for letting you get so injured in the first place when you went into surgery. Once he finds out you left the hospital while you're still recovering, he's going to lose it. And I don't want to be on the receiving end of that. Not again." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and so did Ichigo, "What do you mean 'not again'? Did Renji get angry with you for something?" Ichigo questioned.

"I assume that the twins told you that Ishihara is here in the Soul Society, right?" Toshihiro looked at Ichigo.

"Yeah, they were hesitant to even tell me about Kuro leaving her room." He sent me a look and I quickly shifted my eyes elsewhere. "Ishihara has soul Reaper powers."
