Chapter 24: Assemble! The 13 divisions

Kuroki's pov

"That is so awesome!!" I shouted, causing Ichigo to look over at me with a weird look on his face. "So kid, what's your name?" Kukaku pointed to me, "My name is Kuroki Kurosaki, but call me Kuro." I said as Ganju started laughing, turning my mood sour. "What's so funny?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him. "What kind of name is Kuro? I'll just call you, Kuroki." He laughed, which only served to annoy me. "Don't do it! Don't call her that." Ichigo warned, "Why not? Her name is Kuroki!" Ganju said and I pounced on him, we hit the floor and I put him on his stomach. I held his arms behind his back, using my feet to kick him. "Owwww, that hurts!" Ganju shouted, "I warned you not to call her that." Ichigo said, shaking his head with a sigh. "Apologize and call me Kuro or next time, I won't go so easy on you." I said, giving him a scary look. Ichigo, Uryu, Orihime, and Ganju were scared because of the look on my face when I spoke to him. "Got that?" I asked, giving him an even more scary look. "Okay! Okay!! I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Kuro." He stammered and I let him go. "I like this kid." Kukaku put her arm around me, as I huffed and crossed my arms. "Fireworks?" Ichigo asked, looking at Kukaku. "That's right. Koganehiko, Shiroganehiko.... Raise it up now!" Kukaku shouted, standing on the platform and suddenly the ground started moving. "It's the floor, it's going up." Uryu yelled, as Yoruichi jumped onto my shoulder.

"Look the ceiling, it's opening up." Uryu pointed up, "For real?" Ichigo asked, as we made it outside. "So did that scare you kids? You got my one and only enhanced fireworks launch pad." Kukaku smiled, as she looked at us. "And that's the flower-" Ganju started but was cut off when Kukaku smacked him, making him hit the floor. "That's my line." She stated, looking at us with a smile. "Huh? Left you all speechless, didn't I?" She was being a little cocky but I didn't mind, better her than Ganju. "I know that you're supposed to be a pyrotechnical wizard, but I'm still not fully convinced of it. The idea of shooting us up into the air is completely-" Uryu suddenly gets hit in the face with a ball and Ichigo catches it, he looks down at it and then looks up. "What's this?" He asked as I looked at the round ball, it looked heavy. "It's a reiatsu kaku, or spirit core. Place your palms on it and concentrate your spirit energy." She explained, "Huh? Like this?" Ichigo tries to do it but couldn't get it to work and I sweat-dropped, he really is an idiot. "Can someone show me how to concentrate my spirit energy?" Ichigo asked looking up at Kukaku, who seemed confused. "Huh? Any soul reaper should easily be able to do that. So you should know how to use your spirit energy to do this." A ball of energy glows from her hand.

"Well... Actually their the substitute soul reapers, I was telling you about earlier and they both can't use spirit energy at all." Yoruichi explains to Kukaku, "Yeah, I can see that." Kukaku looks at Ichigo, while he was messing with the ball. "You mean like this?" He asked, "This kid is completely useless. Ganju, show this amateur how it's done." Ganju tries to snatch the ball from Ichigo, but he moved it away and then kept moving it so Ganju couldn't get the ball. I shook my head and sighed watching those two, Kukaku gets annoyed and smacked them on the head. "Stop this fighting right now, both of you." She said, "I'm sorry." Ichigo and Ganju said in unison.

Ganju shows us how to do it and a ball forms around him, "What's that?" Ichigo asked, "This here is the canon ball. Now pay close attention, everyone, you may think that the only thing guarding the Seiritei is that barrier, but you are dead wrong. It isn't nearly that simple. That barrier is made from a stone known as seki seki, it's rare even in the soul society. This is a fragment of it. As you can see it completely repels spiritual energy, therefore it's impossible to smash through the barrier with spirit energy alone. Even cutting into a small piece such as this breaks down spirit energy from all sides. Which means that the Seireitei has a barrier that surrounds it, protecting them not only from the guy sky above but from the ground below it. So you see, that's why we use this." Kukaku explained, "Sis, let me go. I'm tired." Ganju whined, making me roll my eyes.
