Chapter 10

Barrett's Pov
Pouring one of the insulins down the sink.
"He'll need more eventually" I said to myself
Zoey's pov
"His heartbeat's really weak. I'm gonna go check the gym lockers." I said
"Natalie and Violet already did that." Barrett said
"Then I'm gonna go check the nurse's office." I said
"We know there's none there." Barrett said
"Okay, then I'm going outside to a drug store." I said
"I understand why you're upset, but acting impetuously solves nothing." Barrett said
"I can't just do nothing." I said
"Hey. This isn't necessary. My point is, you don't have to search for insulin." Barrett said pulling some out of his pocket
"Oh, my God. Oh, that's so great. Where... where'd you find it?" I s
"Principal Mitchell's office." Barrett said
"Why didn't you say something sooner?" I asked
"I wanted to tell you when we were alone." Barrett said
"I... I don't understand." I said
"There isn't really anything to understand." Barrett said
"What do you want for it?" I asked
"Excuse me?" Barrett asked
"What do you want for it?" I asked with distaste
"A "Thank you" will do." Barrett said
"How am I supposed to thank you?" I asked
"I must admit, I'm a bit taken aback." Barrett said
"Dude, just answer the question?" I said
"I don't know if your reaction is a reflection on how you see me, or you see yourself. Either way, it's distressing.' Barrett said
"Stop talking like that and just give me the pen." I said
"I knew you didn't care for me. But to think me capable of taking advantage of you, or for you to see yourself as something to be bartered, like an object, I think you're underestimating both of us. All I wanted was to help you and LeSean." Barrett said "Thank you." I said
"Go help your boyfriend." Barrett said
Mia's pov
When I woke up I was naked and wrapped in Noodles arms, my head on his chest, with a blanket onto of us. Being with him, nothing can top that feeling. It wasn't our first time together but every time he makes me feel just as special. I started tracing circles on Noodles chest.
"Hey sleeping beauty" noodle said looking down at me.
"Hey how long was I out?" I asked
"Not to long."
"I didn't hurt you did I?" I asked moving my head up from his chest to look him in the eyes.
"You, hurt me?" He asked chuckling
"Haha very funny" I said sarcastically
"I'm good baby." Noodle said
"Your stitches?" I questioned
"Still in tacked" he said kissing my forehead. I sighed happily moving my head back to his chest still tracing circles.
"Where'd the blanket come from?" I asked
"I found it box over there" noodle said pointing to a box on the other side of the room.
"You shouldn't have gotten up, I would have got it" I said
"I told you I'm fine your fussing over nothing. Anyway we should be heading back to the others I bet their worried." Noodle said
"Can we just lay here a bit longer?" I asked
"Of course" noodle said now tracing circles on my waist.
Zoey's pov
"Hey. I was worried. I thought I lost you." I said to LeShaen as he woke up

"I give you warm canned cheese." I said walking in the cafeteria, with a big saucepan of warm cheese
"And chips." Natalie said
"Chips?" Grover said
"I improvised." Natalie said
"I brought a little something extra." Diesel said putting vodka on the table
"Hey. Thank you, Diesel." LeShaen said
"Don't thank me. Thank the unicorn chick." Diesel said
"I'd like to make a toast. Here, here. To Barrett. You and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye. I decided I didn't like you before I knew you. But I owe you my life. Thank you." LeShaen said
"To Barrett." Everyone said
"I would also like to make a toast. To everybody who we've lost. Mary. Lyle. Noodle. Addy. And all the others." Grover said
"One thing about being stuck here is that there's no normal. There are no funerals. No memorials. But we will do right by them. And we will remember them" Violet said writing Mary on the wall
"That's vandalism, you know" a familiar voice said. I turned around quickly to see Mia walking in smiling.
"Mia" I screamed running to hug her.
"Omg I looked everywhere for you, I was so worried" I said hugging her closer. Once I let go she got embraced into a hug by everyone else once everyone had hugged her I asked " where were you?"
"I'm sorry I just needed time to find out how to deal with everything and I found exactly what I was looking for." Mia said smiling. Everyone looked just as confused as me. She giggled
"You can come out now" Mia yelled
LeShaen's pov
I looked at the door when Mia yelled and out came Noodle. My best friend is alive. I ran to him and hugged him everyone else followed.
"How are you alive? we saw the blood." I said to noodle once everyone had greeted him.
"I cut myself on the locker bench when Mary pushed me to the floor but I got her off my and escaped. Although I probably would have bled out if Mia hadn't found me and stitched me up" noodle said
"Thanks Mia" I said
"I told you he wasn't dead" she giggled. Noodle walked over to her putting his arm over her shoulder.
"So you gonna feed us or what?" Noodle asked, causing everyone to laugh.
"This way sir, madam" Natalie said pointing to the table where the food and drinks were.
"That's more like it" Noodle said chuckling. Maybe everything won't be so bad after all I thought to myself, happy that I have my best friend back.
