Noodles pov
"Collins didn't bring much with him." Grover said
"What's that?" Violet asked looking at what I just pulled out
"Proof he's not with the government" I said showing her the Keller chemical plant ID he had in his bag.
"Well, that makes more sense, at least." Violet said
"He works for the company that made this mess." Grover said
"I wonder how many others like him are out there." Violet said
"I should go check on Mia, make sure she's ok" I said

"Hey, Mia" I said walking over to her half asleep form
"Hey Noodle" she yawned sleepily
"We tied Collins down you don't have to worry about him anymore." I said to her
"Okay." She said getting up
"You don't have to get up" I said
"Is everyone ok?" She asked now sitting up.
"Um" I said scratching the back of my neck
"Noodle" she said sternly
"Natalie got injected with the poison" I said
"What? I have to go see her" She said getting up quickly
"Okay, okay let's go" I said taking her hand and kissing her forehead.
Diesels pov
"I should thank you for injecting me." John said from the pole he was tied to as I played with his gun.
"There are a million ways to die in this mess.Most are pretty awful. I'll get a bloody nose, heart'll slow down. It'll be harder to breathe, and I'll feel like I'm drowning. But you'll see it with your girlfriend soon enough." John Collins said
"Is that right?" I asked
"You did a shit job of protecting her." He scoffed
"That's about all you're good for around here, right? And you failed" John said
"That poison doesn't have to be the way you die." I said pointing the gun at him
"But it is gonna be the way she dies. And her baby, too." He said as he head butted me and got out of his ropes. I ran to get the suit as he shot at me
Violets pov
"What did you find?" I asked Grover
"What do you mean?" Grover asked
"Back at the office when you were going through his pack. You found something." I said
"It was nothing" Grover said.
Natalie's pov
"Oh, my God." I said
"shit. Where are they?" Zoey asked
"Diesel!" We called. We heard a noise and followed it to find diesel with a gunshot wound in his side.
"What happened?" I asked
"I got the suit." Diesel said

"At least it's not too bad" Barrett said after cleaning and patching the wound
"Yeah, right." Diesel said
"Doesn't look like the bullet hit anything crucial." Barrett said
"Thank God" I said

"How you feeling?" I asked diesel
"I'm fine." Diesel said
"You're lucky to be alive." I said
"I don't feel lucky. He got the gun." Diesel said
"Yeah, but he didn't get the suit. And he can't leave without it." I said
"We're like sitting ducks in this office." Grover said as we heard a bang on the door. We all looked up to see Mia and Noodle at the door. Grover let them in.
"What are you doing locked up in here?" Mia asked
"Collins got lose" Barrett said
"What?" Noodle asked in disbelief
"He's only got four bullets left." Diesel said
"You checked?" Grover asked
"Yeah." Diesel said
"Omg what happened to diesel?" Mia asked
"He got shot" I said
"Four bullets can still do some damage." Diesel said
"We're a much harder target if we're not all together." Barrett said
"I'll hide the suit. The rest of you, divide up." Barrett said
"Lie low." Barrett said
"Don't move from my side" I heard Noodle say to Mia before they left

"There. How does that feel?" Wrapping around diesels wound
"I'm not worried about me." Diesel said
"Natalie. Your nose." Zoey said only then did I notice my nose was bleeding.
Grover's pov
"Where's the suit?" John Collins said holding Violet with a gun to her head.
"I'm getting outta here." John said
"I‐I don't know." I said John shot the gun in the air pointing it back at Violet.
"I won't ask again." John Collins said causing me to step forward
"Stop! Right there! You might wanna listen." John said to me
"Don't, please." I said
"Bring me the suit. You have three minutes." John Collins said
"Okay. Okay." I said.
Zoey's Pov
"Does it hurt?" I asked
"Not really." Natalie said
"Good That's good." I said
"Can I get you anything?"I asked
"I mean, you feel like... is there something I can do?"I asked
"Sure. I'm thirsty." Natalie said
"I can get water." I said
"Be careful." Natalie said
Diesels pov
"I think she's more worried than you are." I said to Natalie
"She does not wanna be left behind." Natalie said
"None of us do." I said
"I don't wanna leave you. It feels so cruel... that the world would give us something we never expected... and then take it away before we've had any real time together." Natalie said
"Well... the way I see it is... all we've had is real time together." I said
"That's not what I mean." Natalie said
"Just let me finish. Look, maybe we haven't had a lotta time, but the time that we have had, it's been real.And it's been honest. And we are who we are in here. I like who we are." I said.
Grover's pov
"You two. Stay." John Collins said
"Put it down." He said to me. Wanting the suit
"Grover, don't." Violet said
"Now, let her go." I said
"Back. Up." John Collins said
"You have to let her go." I said
"Get outta my sight." John Collins said pushing Violet to us
"If I see any of you before I leave, I will shoot. Now, go!" John Collins said grabbing the suit and running
"What the hell were you thinking?" Violet asked
"I couldn't let him hurt you." Grover said
"What did you expect us to do?" Mia said
"And now we're all going to get killed." Violet said
"Maybe not. I made sure he won't get far." Mia said

"Is there any sign of him out there?" Violet asked
"Not yet. He coulda went out the front." Diesel said
"What if he's still inside?" Mia asked
"If he's not out there when it goes off, we're screwed." Zoey said
"Wait... there he goes. How much time?" Diesel asked
"Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." Mia said just then johns suit starting beeping and the freaks came at him.
Natalie's pov
"When I was little, I used to cry whenever a book ended." I said
"Really? Any kind of book?" Diesel asked
"Comedy... drama... mystery, historical fiction. Didn't matter." I said
"I like historical fiction." Diesel said
"Really?" I asked
"Yeah." He said causing both of us to laugh.
"Ah, there it goes. That's what I was waiting for." Diesel said referring to my laugh
"So why'd you cry?" Diesel asked
"Same reason everyone cries, I guess. You get to know someone inside and out... And then it's just... the end. And it's over." I said
"Yeah, but if the story's good, it sticks with you forever, right?" Diesel asked
"You've done so much for me." I said
"I wish I coulda done more." Diesel whispered
"I felt lucky In the middle of all of this... being here with you." I whispered back
"Yeah, me, too." Diesel whispered.
Barrett's pov
"I'm gonna be all alone." Zoey said
"No, you're not. You got all of us." I said
"I always spent so much time being mad at her...and for what?" Zoey said
Mia's pov
I was sitting with Noodle we were just holding each other happily when we heard a distant thudding.
"What the hell was that?" I asked noodle
"I don't know" noodle said we got up and walked out with everybody else. When all of the sudden the freaks broke out of the basement.
"Everybody back! Go, go!" Grover yelled
"Oh, my God!" I said running with everyone. We ran into a room we were holding the freaks back.
"They're breaking through!" Grover said
"I don't think we can hold them off!" I said
"We have to fight 'em!" Diesel said
"No! We're gonna lose!" Violet said
"We'll just hold the door... we got it!" Violet said
"They're backing off"'Zooey said.
"What's going on?" I asked
"Where's Natalie?" Diesel asked
"Oh, no!" I said
"No!" Diesel said running. Out of the room only to find Natalie being dragged down and eaten
"No" I said trying to run to her before Noodle grabbed me.
"Go, go!" Grover said we locked the freaks up in there.

Noodle, Barrett, Zoey and I are sitting on the couch in the lobby upset about Natalie when we hear a noise behind us.
"LeSean! Oh, my God, is that you?" She said running up and hugging him.
"We thought you were dead." Zoey said
"Good to see you man" Noodle said. Then we saw lights and turned to see a bunch of people coming towards the door.
"They followed me here. I didn't have a choice." LeShaen said.
