Cherry's POV
"I can't believe I did that," I rub my temples as Amanda backs up out of the lot. Damn, I just pissed off a greaser. I really hope I don't see him again.
"I'm glad you did it, you're always getting picked on by guys." She laughs as she turns onto the boys' street. I must say, the abandoned park is the scariest part of this place. I've never seen it before until the night I bumped into the guys. Even though I live literally less than five minutes away from them, I've never went to this part of Tulsa. When we turn around their house, I notice something. I hear yelling coming from an alley down the street.
"Do you hear that?" I ask Amanda an she turns to me. She nods as the loud screaming continues.
"One of the voices are familiar," she stops beside the alley.
"Damn you Jack," I hurriedly close the car door and run down the narrow alley. When I stop running, I gasp. Why does Jack always have to do this? First Harry now Sodapop?
"Jack, what the hell are you doing?" I scream at the boy holding a knife to Soda's neck.
"Why do you always seem to come right on time, Cherry?" He turns to me. It's almost the same thing that happened last time except this time, Jacks alone. He looks completely drunk.
"Put the knife down," I say completely calm. Where's Amanda?
"Cherry, go. I don't want you to get hurt." he warns me. I can't just leave him.
"No," I come between him and Soda.
"Hurt me first." My eyes connect with his and I'm surprised when he doesn't put down the knife.
"Have it your way, Ms. perfect." He takes out a shiny black pistol from his back pockets. I don't move from my spot.
"Cherry, get out of here!" Sodapop tries to push me but I stay put. There's no way Jack would shoot me. Even as a drunk.
"Why are you doing this?" I ask Jack and he chuckles.
"I heard you went out with this pretty boy."
"What the fuck are you doing?" Harry runs down the alley followed by Zayn and Niall.
"Put it down." Zayn says with dark eyes.
"What makes you think I'll do that?" He points the weapon at the boys.
"I'll go with you," I look at him quickly
"What?" He turns around, weapon still pointing.
"I'll go home with you. You could do whatever you want with me, just don't kill him." I beg him. He lowers the gun. Harry's eyes narrow and he jaw clenches.
"Cherry, you can-" Sodapop starts. I interrupt him.
"It's okay." I move closer to Jack.
"No, no Cherry you can't. I'd rather let him take me then have you go with him." Niall bravely says, grabbing my arm.
These guys are so heroic and brave, something the Socs will never be.
"Shoot me," Harry buds in. Jacks eyes meet his. Harry's eyes are flaring with envy. Greener then ever. What the hell is wrong with him?
"Harry," I call him but he ignores me.
"Shoot me, and we keep the girl." Harry's eyes stay laid on Jack. No, he can't do this. Jack seems to be thinking because he's not speaking.
"Well, I would want you dead so you could stop messing with her." Jack contemplates. I can't believe I loved a monster. A horrible human. He's so drunk, he can't even stand up.
