Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that there about 5 chapters left in this story. I don't want to drag it out any longer that need be. Also, there will be no more books for this story at all. This is the last one. One last thing, I edited last chapter a little bit for this chapter to have Laya in it. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Laya
Momma and daddy had been going back and forth since we got in the car. All I wanted was for everything to be over.
"Daddy, where is Erin?"
He looked over to mommy who smiled and looked back at me.
"She went with aunt Candy to Los Angeles. They had to get away for a bit."
I nodded and leaned back and seen that we were back at the warehouse.
"Na me and mama gon go in hea and take care of somethin. You stay right hea and no matta what don't you move aight?"
I nodded and daddy kissed me.
"We love you." Mama said.
"I love y'all too!"
They closed the door and sighed sitting back in my seat. The car beeped meaning daddy locked the door. I watched them walk into the ware house. I wasn't stupid, I knew what daddy was going in there to do. To keep my mind off everything , I wanted to play my DS.
Climbing in the front seat, I opened the console and grabbed my game and began playing it.
August
"Come on, I'm tryna get dis shit ova wit and get da fuck home."
"Are you sure that this is a good idea?"
I stopped and faced Stephanie.
"What?"
"I mean do you think that it is a good idea to leave Laya in the car alone by herself."
I sighed and nodded.
"I think that she will be good. Na' can we go in thea so we can hurry and get out."
I walked up da steps and stopped when I heard voices talkin. Stephanie frowned at me in confusion.
"Oh get over it Lynn, look, you know the truth. So, I don't know why you are trying to back out now." Kelton spoke.
"This is my daughter that we are talking about it. And--"
"And what Lynn? You need to realize what is going on here."
"I need to realize! No you need to remember what happen Kelton. You called me! And if you expect me to go against my daughter for you, you have another thing coming."
I looked over ta Stephanie who was just as confused as I was. This shit was overwhelmin.
"This is ridiculous! Lynn if you didn't want to be involved, you should have something earlier. I don't have time for all of your indecisive shit. You wasn't thinking about all that when you hired me to kill David."
"Your out of your mind. Between you and that damn girl, I'm going to lose my mind." Lynn said.
There was chuckling.
"Estelle knows everything. So if we screw this up she is going to kill both of our asses including your little precious daughter."
"The only reason your doing all of this shit is because you want Stephanie. Let me tell you right now, she is not going to leave August for you. Never. The only way you are going to be able to get her is if you kill August and you wouldn't even get her then cause she doesn't love you-
"That doesn't matter. Love don't matter right now. Stephanie doesn't know what is good for her. But once that nigga is out of the way, she'll be fine." Kelton cut her off.
"Please. She didn't give you attention then and she damn sure ain't going to give it to you now. You know why? Because she has a family and she knows what she wants."
"Just like you? If you so worried about her, why you here huh?"
Stephanie pushed my shoulder and pointed at da door. I held my hand up at her, letting ha know when da time was right we would go in. Just as I was about ta tell her what was goin on, thea was chair bein scooted and heels clickin acroos da flo.
"Move back!" I whispered to Stephanie.
We both back up against da door and Lynn stepped out first. Without a second thought, I grabbed her and Kelton took off first. Before I could say anything, we heard shots that had Stephanie taking off after him, makin me push Lynn ta da floor. I couldn't ket Stephanie go out by herself.
Once I ran back down da steps, I bumped into Stephanie and was about ta speak when I seen why she had stopped. I looked at the scene befo me and what I seen was enough ta make me second guess myself.
"Oh my God, her dream!" Stephanie said runnin to Laya.
What in da hell was goin on?
