Continued from last chapter...

August

I hopped in da car and headed toward the direction of Laya and Erin's school. I was gin bring them back ta da hospital ta see pops. Swervin' in ta da turnin' lane, my phone began ta ring. Reachin' in da cup holda, I looked at da screen dat read da girl's school on thea.

"Helluh?"

"Mr. Alsina?" Da woman on da otha end asked.

"Yea."

She sighed. "We have a problem."

I frowned and really focused on da conversation.

"What kind of problem?" I asked.

She cleared her throat and began speaking again.

"Well it's Laya. Sh--"

"She what?" I asked, gettin irritated as hell.

"She got in a fight today and I need you to come to the office so we can talk a bit more about what happened."

I sighed and pinched da bridge of my nose.

"Aight, I'm on my way right na'." I hung up without waiting fir a response.

I pushed down on the gas and accelerated my speed. Once I seen da school, I swerved in da lot and killed da ignition. Even tho I wasn't Laya's real fatha, I had her since she can basically rememba and I was gon treat her like dat.

Walkin into da building, thea was a blonde head lady dat came meetin' me at da door. Guess she was da one dat I was talkin' to on da phone. I looked at her and then over at the office whea I seen Laya sittin wit her head down.

"Mr. Alsina, right this way." She said, walkin in front of me ta da door.

I walked in a seen Laya, she aint even look up at me. I frowned and walked ova ta her and lifted her chin. She was cryin and shrugged her chin away from me.

"What da hell happened? Why my baybeh cryin?"I asked.

Dis shit hea was pissin me off.

"Sir could you please sit down?"

I looked over at Laya then back at da woman and slowly dat down. Laya made no move to come sit by me and dat kind of bothered me.

"Mr. Alsina, I'm Blair Jenkins, Laya's math teacher. I am not sure if Laya has been telling you about her activities at school but there has been a little case of Laya getting bullied. Now, we have zero tolerance of bullying here but there seems to be more than one person doing it. Also, Laya--"

"And y'all can't seem ta find some lah ass kids dats bullyin' my baybeh?" I interjected.

I was beyond mad, my baybeh aint need ta get bullied. I neva was and I wasn't about ta put up wit it comin at my daughter eitha.

"Well that's what I wanted to speak to you about. I'm not sure if you guys wrestle at home or you are teaching her anything but apparently Laya got fed up with the bullying and she snapped."

I cocked my brow, leaning over on my knees. "Snapped?"

The woman sighed and nodded. She signaled fa Laya ta come ova ta whea I was and sit down. Still lookin down, Laya stayed quiet.

"Laya, could you tell your father what happened?"

Laya bit her lip and shrugged. "I hit the girl back."

The woman scoffed and sat back in da chair and shook her head.

"Well I wouldn't say just hit her back. Mr. Alsina, Laya sent the girl to the hospital. She had a concussion when she left the school. And broken limbs. With prayers, we hope the girl is even able to function when she gets out. Or at least alive for the most part."
