They are barging in and Krisia steps aside and mutters "rude" loud enough for them to hear. There is two cops; one black, bald, heavy set with a full goatee with grey hairs peeking through and big, eager eyes. He was probably in his late 50's. The other officer was younger, probably mid 30s, thin framed, dirty blonde short hair and seemed to be the more patient of the two. He seemed like an average white male cop. The black officer whose name tag read "Smithson" tells Krisia to "leave" I nod to her in efforts of avoiding her back talking the rude cops. I smile at her, "Thanks for stopping by love, I can handle this. Go enjoy your day, I love you and thanks for everything " I wink and she leaves. She doesnt do well in the company of police so she doesnt put up much of a fight.

I fix my pillow and pull down my blanket and sit with my legs crossed and my elbows on my knee's. I mirror their expression "So whats so urgent?" I spit out. Maybe its my complex with men or authorities... actually, it is probably both and their intial hasty attitude when I am the damn victim here.

Officer Smithson grabs a chair and sits back. Eyes locked on my eyes. The other officer speaks , I turn my attention to him. "I am detective Harper, and we have been assigned to your faulty case." He leans against the wall, with one foot on the floor and the other bent at knee and his foot flat against the wall. He was hoping for a reaction from his choice of words. Obviously he doesn't get one. So he continues "There is some things that are strange in your car accident report... he raises one eyebrow and half smirks impatiently "thats what happened to you right? A car accident?" He continues to look at me accusingly. I give them a confused look and innocently respond
"If you say thats what happened" I re-adjust my hair.
"Look all I remember was that I was almost out of cigarettes and the school wasn't going to be open for hours, so I had time to dash to the convenience store and thats just what I assume I was on my way to do..." I pause and shrug
"Then I am awoken in an ambulance with a tireless headache that won't allow my eyes to stay open, again I fall asleep and awake here"
The white male officer looks at the black cop with a "yeah right" kind of look. Officer Smithson has yet to take his eyes off of me though and hasn't spoken since his demanded farewel to Krisia.
He now decides to stand up and pull out from his back pocket, a pack of smokes with a couple of cigarettes missing. He chucks them at me and smirks "We found this pack in your totaled vehicle, now why would you need to buy cigarettes when you had a nearly full pack?"
I look at him, sure to show him that I have not fallen into his trap nor am I made uneasy by his discovery. I answer arrogantly "ah thats my back up pack, thats always in my car. Their about three months old? Yeah, its there for those situations when I quit smoking and I tell myself I am not going to buy any cigarettes then all I have left are those nasty stale cigarettes... so when I cave thats what I am stuck with, so I smoke them. It keeps me motivated because their beyond disgusting..at least it did. I think I will get rid of those now though, thanks for returning them... life is too short for a stale cigarette, wouldnt you agree?"
I don't expect an answer

Smithson looked beyond angry and did not care that it showed. He storms out of my room cursing under his breath. Detective Harper, smiles at me and stands up straight from his leaned position "Ignore him, he has been a little off lately, there is a drug case he has been chasing for years and any similarities that show up, he chases and gets disappointed when their not what he was hoping for."
He sits down on the chair across from me, just when I thought this interrogation was over... he begins to speak "Now, its clear due to the placement of your injuries you were chained up and your toxicology shows you were heavily drugged, whether that was before or after the car accident"... he tilts his head and smirks "if there was even an actual accident..... THAT is what I need to know." He looks me up and down and tries that country boy flirt looking into my eyes sympathetically "if you're worried that they will find you or that you will tell us anything about them, we can protect you." He rubs my hand. And just as that country crock charm came, it vanishes and out comes the cliche officer like the ones that beats those in cuffs. He jerks back his hand and becomes standoff-ish.
"However, if we find out you've chosen to work with them, for them or are hiding any information about ANYTHING!!" His voice is loud enough to be heard across the hall. He leans in closer and slowly lowers his voice..."I will personally see to it that you suffer the maximum penalties for all crimes involved, starting with withholding information and sabotaging a case" His eyes look pure evil and his stance is strong which overrides my image of him as "the officer with the thin frame"
