Chapter 28: How to get away with murder

Why I am doing this, I don't know.

Why I am angry, he killed and tortured.

I'm killing him, doesn't that make me the same? Yes.

Do I care...No.

I wandered into Pan's camp and saw the boys looking at me, fear written all over their faces.

"You can't be here!" One of the boys yelled, "Pan said you have to be back in your cage!"

"Well he forgot to lock it" I fake pouted, "Poor him"

"Ella!" Screamed Felix, "Where did you go! You just ran off, you just left!"

"I know" I said sarcastically, "I wasn't possessed"

"Enough smirk!" He retorted, "I let you go, I deserve a little credit"

"Yah, Yah, Yah" I rolled my eyes, "Where is Pan?"

"Why do you want to know?" He asked, "You hated him 10 minutes ago"

"I changed my mind!"

He eyed me skeptically. "No you didn't! Why?"

"I just need to see him!" I yelled, "Where is he?!"

"No need to yell Ella" Pan tsked, "Finally realized you need me?"

His cocky attitude was annoying the crap out of me. Who did he think he was, the Queen Of England?! I knew he had to believe my act, so I put on a smile and walked toward him.

"I love you, no matter what you have done"

Obviously, he could sense the hesitation in my lie.

"Liar!" He yelled, then noticed all the lost boys. "Lets go somewhere private shall we?"

He waved his hand and in an instant, we had materialized under his thinking tree.

"What are we doing here?" I asked.

"You have some explaining to do!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked innocently

He scowled. "I know you don't love me, why are you here?! You don't just change your mind in 10 minutes!"

"I finally realized that even if you killed and tortured, I still love you, I can't just bury those feelings away!"

"Stop lying!!!!" He yelled, "I know you don't love me, so what do you want?!"

I remained silent.

"If you don't answer me, I'll put you back in your cage!"

"I don't care!" I yelled, "Why would I care about you! You made my life hell even though you said you loved me! You put me in a cage, you took away the lives of so many people and most of all...You lied to me!"

"I never lied to you!"

"Yes you did!" I screamed back, "You told me you loved me! Don't tell me that was the truth because if it was, you wouldn't have done this!" I pointed to my scar.

He sighed. "What do you want Ella?"

I looked him straight in the eye.

"When I was in the Enchanted Forest, I was kidnapped. It was Rumpelstiltskin and he took my heart. He told me that I had to kill you and I had no choice. I refused but he had my heart, actually, he still does. But after what you have done, I realized, the world would be better without you. So I agreed to do it willingly!"

I pulled out my knife.

"You know that can't hurt me"  he smirked.

"No" I pointed to the knife, "This can't. But filled with Rumple's magic, it can"

I moved closer to him.

"Please Ella, You're not a killer. I know you!"

"No" I yelled, "You knew me! Not anymore"

Iwas so close I could almost kill him, then I took in his words. This isn't me!

"It is true, I do love you Ella. I know I made some bad decisions but I did it for you. I was so scared of losing you that I started pushing you away and more importantly...Hurting you. You can kill me, but before you do, know one thing...You may kill me but I still love you, I will always love you and most importantly...I forgive you!"

Tears were streaming down his face by now.

Then I said the words I never thought I'd ever say again.

"I don't want to live without you"

He stared up at me as I dropped my knife.

"I love you too and I don't want to kill you. I was just scared and angry, but you're right, this isn't me!"

I was shaking now and he came forward and wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you" he whispered.

Then reality hit me. "You have to run!" I yelled.

"What, Why?!"

"Rumple still has my heart, I can't stop myself from killing you, so go!"

"No" he yelled, "I won't leave you!"

I felt Rumple forcing me to pick up the knife. "Please go!"

"No! I love you and won't leave you!" He told me.

I felt my hand moving forward and suddenly Peter was on the ground, groaning in pain.

"No!" I screamed, "No, No, No!"

"It's okay Ella" He groaned out, "If i die, at least I know that you love me"

He reached his hand up and wiped away my tears.

"But I dont want you to die, I need you, I love you!"

But I looked down to see his eyes closed.

"No!!!!!!!!!!!" I cried, "Please, you have to wake up!"

My tears wouldnt stop they just kept coming.

This was me, I killed him, I'm the reason he's gone.

Peter Pan is gone forever!
