As Riley, Maya, Farkle, and I walked into school once again, it felt different. Next year is going to be our last year (possibly) together! Riley especially felt as if the world was going to end. Maya her best friend, and I her boyfriend might need to be split from her. Maya and I... I mean Riley and I could possibly have to split up, I never thought about it till now.

OK, yes, I do like Maya, but I'm not very sure about how she feels for me. So for now I'm going to stay with Riley.

My first class, chemistry. I remember when Maya and I were partners that one time in 8th grade. We couldn't see each other through the weird stuff, and I later found out that glob of stuff was actually Riley. She's getting I the way of Maya and I! I know, I make it sound like Riley is the bad guy here, but I LOVE Maya.

"Hey, you guys, what class do you have 1st hour?" I asked everyone.

"Um... History. What about toy guys?" Riley asked us.

"Same." Farkle pointed out to Riley.

"Actually, chemistry!" Maya told me specifically. I looked at her, both of our eyes immediately met and lit up instantly.

"Really? That must be a misprint. Or mine might be. We've always had the same schedule!" Riley said to Maya. For some reason she sounded worried. Could she possibly notice what I feel for Maya?

Maya and I went to chemistry and since we were really the only people we knew there, we sat next to each other. Actually, there was Peter, but I don't trust the guy.

Just to let you know, Peter is Maya's old boyfriend. Apparently the two broke up because he was cheating on her with some other girl. Every time I thought about it, I wanted to murder him. Why would someone do something like that to someone you care about?!?

Maya looked over to him and kind of growled. "Why does he have to be I this class?"

"It's going to be alright Maya. You have me. I can protect you from whatever you may need help with." I told her.

"You really think I need help? Have you even met me ranger rick?" She laughed.

"I know, but I've seen your sensitive side. I do know you short stack." I assured her.

"Thank you. Even if I don't need help most of the time." Maya hugged me. The teacher walked in and class started.

"Hello everyone!" This teacher sounded way to enthusiastic to not be new, "My name is Mrs. Lewis and I'll be your chemistry teacher for this year and possibly next."

"So are you new or..." Peter interrupted.

"Actually, yes. But that doesn't mean I'm not a good teacher. In fact, let's start the year off with a bang! Everyone find a partner, for you and someone else will need to create a dead hamster and turn it into a living one." Everyone just stared at Mrs. Lewis.
