What Happen's Next?

Lucas's POV

After Maya told me how she felt, she bolted out of the room. What? What happens now? She said she loved me, and she knows I love her, so what happens now?

Is it her and Finn still, or her and Lucas?

Her and Lucas, I like the sound of that. Maya and Lucas. It sounds like we are meant to be. Like how you hear the two names of people in rom com's and you just know. That's how I feel. Maya and Lucas.

Maya and Finn. Don't get me wrong, Finn's a nice guy and all, and if Maya chooses him it's alright. But it just doesn't sound right. It's like the combination of pancakes and barbeque sauce. Maya and Finn.

Oh god, I can't let that happen! It has to be Maya and Lucas! Where'd she go?

I run after her, but it's a little hard with not knowing where she went.

The bae window! Of course, that's where she always goes!

I run as fast as I can there. But halfway there, I bump into someone.

"Oh gee, sorry. I'm in a rush and didn't see where I was..." I look to see who this figure was, "Oh, hey Finn." I say.

"Hey Lucas. How did things go with Maya? Not good I presume with the whole you running like your life depended on it." He asks.

"Actually, things are still pretty complicated..." then I remember what I was doing, "I need to get going! I'll, ah, see you around?"

"Alright, well..." he didn't finish. I mean, I'm sure he did, but I didn't hear since I blasted off before he could.

Finally, I reach the fire escape. I don't want to walk through the apartment itself because then I'll get questioned. I just need Maya.

Just as I'm about to sit down I realize, she's not here. I look around the room, it's dark, there's no one here. So I adventure to the living room. I see Riley and Auggie sitting together on the couch.

"Hey, have you guys seen Maya?" I wonder in a out of breath manner.

"Um, no, I thought she was with Finn?" Riley answered in a unknowing tone.

"Actually she was, then she saw me and we got to talking. Thus leading her to run out on me. So I decided she would run here. Then I precised to come here too  to finish our conversation, but I didn't see her at the bae window. Now I'm here, asking you where she is." I say, out of breath from all the running.

"Well, I have no idea. I would expect her to come here to if this conversation you guys had was as important for her to run out." Riley tells me.

"Okay, I'll be leaving then." I say, finally back into normal breathing.

"Hold on a minute!" oh god, what does she want! "You can't just expect to barge in here, say all these really sketchy things, and think you can just barge right back out!" Riley says.

"Maya said she loves me!" I yell, finally having enough.

"What?!??" Riley shouts back, getting to her feet.

"But she also said she loves Finn!" I say, more quietly this time.

"Oh god, what has she done?" Riley asks herself, looking to the ground.

"What do you mean?" I question because I don't know what she means by that.

"She knew! She's known she liked you since the triangle!" Riley tells me.

"What! She said her feelings stopped at ski lodge!" I say, becoming confused

"Yes, well, she stepped back again... Once we started dating, her feelings only grew. Then, when we broke up, she came to me to ask about everything. Her feelings, my feelings, your feelings."

"But she was interested in Finn by then!" I interrupt.

"You idiot, a woman can like two boys at once. Hell, you like me and Maya at once!" Riley shouts, pulling me into her room so she can swear without Auggie hearing. "Now, I told her to stay with Finn cause I still wasn't completely over you."

Once again, I didn't let her finish. "What the hell Riley!"

"Shut the fuck up ok, I made a mistake. You did the same by picking me!" I go silent, "Now, after I talked to Maya, that's when she and Finn became more serious. But she still had feelings for you. Then the car crash happened..." Riley was then interrupted again, but not by me this time.

"Riley, I'm here!" Some guy yells, coming into her room, "I brought the movies, the food, and... Oh no..."

"What the hell are you doing here?!!" I shout, confused as ever.
