"Peter?!!" I shout.

"Howdy Lucas, haven't seen you for a while!" Peter slowly says, unsure of how I would react.

"Riley, what about Farkle?" I ask, turning to her and away from Peter.

"We kissed, but Peter and I have been going out for a while now." Riley slyly replies back.

"Hold on, so when we were still together, you were already hooking up with him? So you were in fact cheating on me!" I say, finally figuring everything out.

"Well, yes..." Riley whispers.

"That's also why you made Peter talk to Maya! So you could cover yourself up!" I shout, now blazing with frustration.

"Talk? Riley made me attack Maya that day in the..." Peter didn't finish that sentence since he knew I was already ready to pounce.

"Attack? What the actual fuck Riley! Maya is you best friend and you send someone to attack her?" I yell, having enough of this bullshit.

Peter turns to me, about to open his mouth.

"Don't say a word home wrecker! I'm already planning on smashing your face in!" I say, pointing my finger in his direction.

"Riley, I told Farkle I wouldn't date Maya since I wanted to protect your feelings. I ruined my chance because of you! All the while, you're fucking around with the same guy who crushed Maya's heart!" I shout once again, about to explode.

"Lucas, calm down! Can we please talk about this? I can explain myself!" Riley begged.

I sit down, showing her that I'm ready for what ever bull shit she throws at me.

"Alright, I just want to start off saying that I never intended for any of this to happen." Riley announces, making sure I wouldn't get more mad then I already was. "The end of school last year, Peter and I were partnered for a project. I didn't want to do it since he broke Maya's heart, but the teacher refused to discuss it. So, after a while of working we finally got to talking and we connected. Eventually he grew feelings and so did I. I felt like we were disconnecting, so I jumped at the chance!" Riley finished, ending with trying to defend herself.

"Why didn't you just talk to me? It could have saved both of us a lot of trouble." I told her, honestly.

"Both of us? You mean you being able to date Maya?" Riley asked, turning me into the bad guy.

"Don't do that Matthews, I'm not the one who actually cheated in this relationship!" I spat.

"Fine, you win. Anyways, why did you even come here Lucas?" Riley said.

"Well, I came here looking for Maya. She ran away while we were talking and I thought she would come here. I was wrong, so I'll just..."

"Hold on, I might know where she would go!" Peter butted in.

"Who was even talking... Wait, what did you just say?" I approached him.

"Maya, when ever we would argue she would run to the same place." Peter informed me.

"And where would this place be exactly? I'm kind of in a hurry." I retorted.

"The library. She would hide there in the window on the second story since nobody ever goes there." Peter said.

It took me about fifteen minutes to make it to the library since I didn't have my car with me. Once I got there, I saw the light on on the second floor, meaning she was here.

I make my way to her with determination on my mind. I turn the corner on the flight of stairs when I hear crying. Nothing dramatic, just soft sniffles.

I finally reach the top and see her there in the window, reading Tale of Two Cities.

"Well, who knew we had a Shakespeare on our hands." I say, announcing my appearance.

She turns to me with bloodshot eyes and puffy cheeks. "Lucas, what are you doing here?" she asks, turing back to her book.

"What do you think? You tell me you have feelings for me and then run off. I kind of wanted to finish our discussion." I joked, not earning a laugh.

"What's there to say. I like both you and Finn and both you and Finn like me."

"Actually, there's a lot to say. Like, "how are we going to end this?"' I say.

"Lucas, don't. It took you four years to figure out who you wanted, and it turned out to be the wrong person. So give me time, please." she pleads, finally making eye contact.

"You're right. It makes me a hypocrite to ask you something like that. But I do need to know, where do I stand Maya?" I question, stepping closer.

"Lucas, we were never anything more then friends. Before the wreck and after. I'm with Finn, I'm happy with Finn. But the minute something happens, I'll tell you." she assures me.

"Promise?" I ask.

"Promise." she answers.
