The streets of Alexandria were quiet as you walked around your new home at night. Deanna's party had long ended but you couldn't get yourself to go home after hours of frustration and irritation. You had found the safe sanctuary only a few days ago with your group and, for once, the people seemed nice but you couldn't help but feel as careful as Rick while observing the reckless Alexandrians. They didn't know what was outside their walls, they couldn't survive a single day without the comfort of their houses and it annoyed you.

How could they be so idiotic and nice at the same time?

In addition, you didn't trust their generosity or kindness towards your family. In your defence, what kind of ignorant people would throw a party in the middle of the apocalypse?! You shook your head as you walked down the street to reach your house and recalled the events of the previous few hours.

You walked into Deanna's house, feeling slightly uncomfortable in your flowing red dress as you felt all eyes on you. You felt weird, wearing a dress for the first time in three years. Your eyes trailed over the abundance of unknown people in hope to find one of the members of your family, secretly hoping that Daryl would be there. You had to admit that you had picked the dress especially for him or in hope to catch his eyes. Since you first met him in Atlanta, you had had a big crush on the blue-eyed redneck. Daryl intrigued you since the first time he had look at you at the quarry, you remembered how your breath had hitched and how your heart had started to beat hard against your chest when you had shaken his hand for the first time, the feeling of his warm and calloused skin against yours was delectable.

After a while, your eyes landed on Glenn and Maggie and you swiftly walked in their direction to stand next to them. You released a shaky breath as Maggie smiled at you.

"You look amazing (Y/N)!" Maggie said while squeezing your shoulder softly. You smiled back and Glenn nodded his head in agreement with his wife.

"Thanks, Maggie." You answered just above a whisper. Glenn chuckled and shoved your shoulder in a brotherly way.

"Is it supposed to be for a certain redneck?" Glenn teased you and you blushed deeply, feeling suddenly embarrassed.

"Oh please Glenn, shush it! He won't come anyway." You answered, your voice sounding sad as it waved slightly at the end. Maggie looked at you apolitically and Glenn shook his head.

"Then go and find him! Spend some alone time with him. You know he always enjoy your company." Glenn tried to convince you as he waved at Abraham and Rosita who were taking their fair share of the beer and food Deanna had prepared for the party.

You chuckled as you saw Abraham's plate full of food, his cheeks flushed in excitement. Glenn and Maggie chuckled too as Rosita rolled her eyes at her boyfriend as he kept stuffing his already full plate. After that, the party went on and you found yourself stuck with the laddies of the town. They were talking nonsense in your opinion and after Sasha's little tantrum, you decided that it was your chance to leave, what brought you now in the desert streets of the city thinking about the one and only Daryl Dixon.
