It was just another boring day at Alexandria. The sun was shining, the birds weren't chirping because they were all dead. And honestly, you just felt caged here. They say you're safe but you know the truth, as long as people are alive, and or dead, they kill. Therefore you were not safe. But bored. You and Daryl shared a house agreeing neither wanted to deal with a crying baby and a whiny Carl anymore. And you can't lie, you liked it just you and Daryl, it was peaceful. And you were more comfortable around him since you two were so close and understood each other. There were some low nights, where you stayed with him and he stayed with you. Both just needing someone to hold them, to comfort them and tell them it was going to be okay. Even if you knew It wasn't going to be. But that's what yours and Daryl's relationship was all about. Giving each other hope. People say you always brought out the best in Daryl, even when he seemed too far gone. You were able to break him off his bad habit of smoking. Which really showed the group how much control you had over him. You loved Daryl, and he loved you. But neither of you would admit that too each other. You and Daryl knew each other your entire life, you live next to him and he was always over everyday. You were best friends. Still are but there was always that...Want for each other. The want to be more then just friends. Though neither of you had the nerve to cross that line.

You sighed thinking about the past, as always, when you heard Daryl's motorcycle start up. You jumped up off the porch with excitement. Finally something was happening. You walked off your porch and over to the garage to see Daryl with his crossbow on his back and a rope over his shoulder. "Where're you goin'?" You asked, leaning against the wall in confusion. "Goin' huntin'." He stated, getting onto the motorcycle. Your eyes lit up hearing this. Hunting was your joy, especially when with Daryl. "Oh...Alright." You said. Not wanting to invite yourself. He looked up at you with a confused and almost a disappointed expression "What? Ain't ya comin'? Thought we stick together..." He raised his eyebrow. Then looked away, grinning trying to rile you up. This was always his way of saying he wanted you to come. To use the 'I thought' against you. You rolled your eyes knowing his little tricks but he knew you wanted to come. "Well I was just waitin' for an invitation." You grinned, picking up your bow from against the stone wall and putting it over your head and grabbing the rest of your gear. He laughed, "Since when do ya use an invitation?" He chuckled. You just rolled your eyes and got on behind him. "Shut up and drive Dixon." You playfully squeezed him. He rolled his eyes and lifted up his feet and onto the foot rest and went driving to the gate, nodding to the man to open the gate to which he did.

You sighed happily. Taking in the fresh air from outside the walls. You finally felt free. And not to mention Daryl was with you making it twice as an amazing feeling. He drove for a little while before pulling over to the side of the road. You both decided it was best to walk the rest of the way so it wouldn't scare off your dinner. You walked and walked, in silence until you broke the awkwardness to ask "What do you think of Alexandria?" He huffed slightly and shrugged, "It's a a place." He said. "Yeah" you simple replied. The small talk wasn't unusual. But it just felt off.

You two continued to walk in silence for some time when you heard a branch snap. Instantly you both raised your weapons and slowed down while turning towards the noise. Thinking it's a walker you both nodded to each other went forward towards where the came from. To both of your surprise it wasn't a walker, but something to make this trip more awkward. Two Bambi's, mating. You lowered your bow in disgust as Daryl walked up behind you. "Christ the fuckin' Bambi gets more action then me." He spat. You laughed a little too loud causing both the deer to run off. Daryl looked away, secretly grinning to himself for making you laugh. "Please, the girls in Alexandria would eat one of your squirrels to get in your pants." You said with a little too much jealously in your voice. He rolled his eyes and went about walking with you again "Yeah but I don't want any of 'dem." He spoke up. He kept his eyes fixed straight and on the lookout for any walkers, and his crossbow in his hands ready to aim and fire. You went silent at hearing his words, wondering just what he meant. Were you considered one of the girls? Or you were someone different..... Looked at him with confusion in your eyes once again, but looked away when you asked "Then who? You ain't goin' for Rick are you?" You grinned. "I mean he's nice and all but I'm pretty sure he likes Jess-" he cut you off by throwing his crossbow to the ground and pressing you against a tree, his body wasn't the only thing pressed against you as his lips were too. His chapped, cigarette tasting lips against your warm soft ones sent sparks flying. Your eyes were wide as could be. He was kissing you??? Since when did he like you this way??? Your heart raced against his chest as you slowly relaxed into his warmth (Not his length just yet ladies 😂) wrapping your arms around his neck while you kissed him with all your heart, all your soul, all of you. All those hidden feelings that were held back for years just pouring out into the kiss. The sparks between you were enough to start a wild fire. At this moment you both knew you each felt the same way about one another.
