TEENAGE DARYL

„Fuck, what'cha doin' down there!?" A very confused look had appeared on Daryl's face. „How'd ya even get there!?"
Looking up at him I placed my hands on my hips and tried to stay serious.
"Just chillin' a bit." I shrugged my shoulders. "Could you please help me get out now? I think there're walkers just around the corner, dying to get a piece of me." I reached out to him to escape the little shaft I had fallen into. I could hear walkers growling nearby and I wasn't too eager to find out how close they really were.

"Yeah, c'mon. Grab my hand, I'll pull ya out."
He didn't have to tell me twice. With a small jump I grabbed his hand for dear life and flouncing and flailing like a fish out of the water I finally managed to get back to safety.
"Whew, you saved me." I stretched my legs and arms and lay down for a second.
"Yeah, again..", Daryl murmured and sat next to me. "You better start looking where ya goin', babe. Can't always be around to save ya..."
"But you always are!", I trilled and grabbed his jacket to pull him down next to me.
"We really shouldn't be hangin' 'round here, ya know."
"I know, just for a second. My parents are always around when we're home...." I turned around to lay on my side and watched his beautiful features. I was wondering what he would look like when we both grew up to be adults. He'd probably be even more attractive. I giggled at the thought of how our children might look.
"What's so funny?" He narrowed his brows making him look older...almost fierce.
"I was just wondering how we will be like when we're older. Like, adults I mean..."
"We're gonna be awesome." He too turned around to face me, a playful smirk had appeared on his face. "If we're still alive to see it, so, c'mon now, we're headin' back. Doesn't matter if your parents are around or not. I like them a lot more than walkers anyway." He planted a quick kiss on my nose and got up. Reaching out to me Daryl grabbed my hands and pulled me up to him. He took my hand in his and started walking towards home.

"Have ya told your parents by now?!" Out of the corner of my eyes I could see him looking at me curiously.
"Not yet. But I think they know. You're over at our house like most of the time. They can't still think we're just friends. I mean, we're dating for like half a year already. Gosh, that's a really long time isn't it?!" I smiled at him and was pleased to see a smile on his face too.
"Yeah, it is. And it's gonna be a lot more. That's why you should tell your parents."
"Have you told your brother yet?!"
"Yeah, sure, did it months ago. He was happy for us. Told me to never let ya go 'cause I wouldn't find a better girl anywhere." He squeezed my hand. "Think he was right."
"Oh, well, if you've told your brother, maybe I should tell my parents right when we get home?! Could introduce you as my boyfriend and all that." I squeezed his hand back.
"Yeah, why not!?" He smiled at me and hand in hand we walked back to Alexandria.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home!" I pushed the door open and entered yelling for my parents. I was still holding Daryl's hand and for the first time since we started dating I did not even think of letting him go to not shock my parents. If they could be shocked by that anyway.
"We're both in the kitchen, sweetie. Dinner's ready soon!", came the answer from my Mom.
I looked back at Daryl to calm me down. I felt how I was getting more and more nervous the closer we got to the kitchen. He gave me an encouraging smile and knowing that he was with me I finally took the last step forward and entered the kitchen.
"Is Daryl staying for dinner, honey?", my Mom asked without looking up. My Dad was sitting at the other side of the kitchen reading some kind of newspaper we had just recently started. It was more like a flyer, everything was written by hand and sometimes in pretty bad handwriting, but my Dad liked to call it the "newspaper".
When I cleared my throat they finally looked up.
"I have something to announce."
My Mom was watching me closely, a curious look on her face. "What is it, honey?" She smiled at me and I had to smile back.
"Daryl and I are dating. We've been dating for the last couple of months actually."
My Dad raised an eyebrow at us. "And you just now decided to tell us?"
"Yes."
"That's wonderful, sweetie. But in what way are those news!?" My Mom gave me a knowing glance, a smirk around her lips. "I don't think there's anyone in town who would actually be surprised by those "news!" She laughed while drawing the quotation marks into the air.
"You knew it!?" I did expect them to not be surprised, but the fact that they just declared the whole town knew it, that did in fact shock me.
"Yes, we did. Your Mom and I always knew it. Sometimes I think your mom knew it before you guys did." He stood up and put the newspaper down. He crossed the kitchen with a few large steps and came to a halt in front of Daryl. I was more than surprised when I suddenly saw Daryl being pulled into my Dad's arms.
"Welcome to our family, boy. I hope you'll stay for dinner..."
Daryl nodded, but the way my Dad said it, it was pretty obvious he wasn't just referring to today's dinner. And I agreed with him on that one.
After that we excused ourselves until dinner was ready and my Mom willingly agreed to just call us when everything was well cooked and ready to be served. With a wink she murmured something about young love and not wanting to be bother us, but I preferred to not know what she'd actually said.
I took a deep breath when we were finally alone again. Closing the door behind me I finally let go of Daryl's hand. I probably almost squeezed it to death though.
"Well, that was..unexpected..." I turned around just to be met by a bright smile on his face.
"I'm glad I'm officially part of your family now."
"Yeah, me too. Even though I didn't knew we were that obvious." I smirked back at him.
"Anyway, there's no need to hide anything anymore...." My smirk grew wider as I slowly approached him, pulling him down on the bed with me until I came to be above him.
"Your parents are downstairs!", he protested, but his eyes were telling a different story. His hands were already on my hips pulling me down to him. We could finally be together without worrying about anyone finding out. I was beyond relived my parents were so happy to welcome him into our family.
"I wish we could stay together forever...", I murmured between two kisses and his smile told me that he was thinking the same.
"Me too. I love you more than anything, ya know,", he whispered before wrapping his arms around my neck pulling me even closer to him.
"For all eternity."
