Chapter Eighteen

I had fallen asleep on the bed about an hour or so into the flight. All this space travel makes me tired. I knew I was dreaming because I was floating above a small field in the middle of some trees. Wallace Henry was down there and he couldn't see me. Neither could Tela or Ashley who were already with him.

Wow, they move fast. That or I was on Shosle and Aflion for longer than I thought. I haven't really checked the days. Just tried to sleep and continue on.

Ashley was laying on a blanket in the field and Wallace Henry was walking around while Tela watched her. She went to sleep and in no time she was standing beside herself. She looked really excited and tried to get his attention. He couldn't see her.

So she tried to get Tela's attention too but she couldn't see her either. So Ashley let out a frustrated noise and ran her hands through her hair. Then she looked up.

Her eyes widened as she saw me floating up here and she started to jump and wave excitedly at me. I smiled and waved back and she seemed to start yelling at me. But all I could see was her mouth moving, no noise. I shook my head to show her I couldn't hear her.

She scrunched her eyebrows and I pointed to my ears then shook my head again.

She frowned and let out a huff of air really dramatically then thought for a moment. She then pointed to me and gave me a thumbs up and then a thumbs down.

I smiled a little and gave her a thumbs up then pointed back to her. She gave me a thumbs up and we both smiled. Right after that she started to fade away and in no time her body was waking up as if she was only just taking a nap.

"Eve is okay guys," I heard her voice say and I was awake in the space ship. I turned onto my side and looked at Kamer who was eating something from a bowl.

"My friends made it to Lifren," I told him and he raised an eyebrow.

"How do you know that?"

I sat up and rubbed my eyes, "I think I can do that dream walk thing that Warriors do. I just do it still in this world or whatever its called."

He raised an eyebrow, "I've only seen a few select people do that. Usually they are highly trained Warriors who learn how to walk out of the dream world and into this one. Except for that one guy..."

I raised an eyebrow, "that King who died before he got to marry the Queen?"

"Yes!" He said excitedly, "I met that couple once. They were lovely. Wait, how do you know about them?"

"Well my Warrior friend Ashley hasn't learned how to walk in the dream world yet," I paused and thought for a second. "But she can walk in this world, without really trying..."

"How do you know this?"

"I've seen her do it, twice now." I pursed my lips, he probably doesn't believe me.

Kamer had his eyebrows scrunched like he was thinking really hard. "How have you seen her do it? Like can you see her walking around?"

I slowly nodded my head.

"Huh, Queen Noire could see them too." He looked back at me, "like when the Warriors walked around in this world. She could see them and all the dangers of the creatures that came from there when they somehow got through."

"Creatures...?" I said slowly then held up my hands, "nope, don't tell me. I don't want to know. The more I know and the more chance I have of seeing them."

He let out a laugh and continued eating his soup (that's what it looked like anyways). When he offered me a bowl I declined and got some crackers out of my bag. I wasn't crazy hungry yet and his soup looked like it had way too much in it. I probably couldn't even finish half a bowl.

Another side effect to space travel.

He drove for a bit more then told me to wake him up if something moves then went to have a nap. I sat in the chair and just watched the stars pass by. The planets were too far away to see clearly but even hour or so we'd get close enough for me to see the colours of it.

Kamer could sleep longer than I. I never needed to wake him up however. The ship could fly itself just fine. There were never any problems and I was pretty much just sitting there doing nothing for a few hours.

Space is never boring though. I don't think I'll ever get bored of seeing all of those stars close and far and trying to make shapes. Then along comes a planet just to make things exciting for a bit.

"Anything go wrong?" Kamer's voice made me jump in the seat a little bit. He smiled down at me, trying not to laugh.

I shook my head, "nope, everything is just fine."

He sat back into his chair and looked at all of his controls. Nothing had changed except for our position in the Universe. "We should be there in about twelve hours."

That's not terrible. We haven't annoyed each other yet. I mean, all we've done is sleep so far. But that's a good start.

"So, tell me things I need to know."

He looked back at me very confused, "about what?"

"Fighting the Dark Elves," I said with a 'duh' tone. "Starla and her gang of evil have been following me since I left school which means this fight is probably going to take place long before anyone thinks it will."

"Better to have it over and done with as fast as you can." Kamer nodded more to himself, as if he really wasn't talking to me. "Last time it took the Dragon Wizards years to gather up. Most of them were pretty crazy by the time there were enough to start fighting."

I raised my eyebrows, "because people treated you like you were crazy."

He looked at me and seemed confused.

"The first Dragon Wizard went crazy from the start because no one believed he had a dragon tattoo. I read his diary."

Kamer looked back at the stars, "yea and you have people who believe you. They just are depending on you too much. They should have taught themselves how to come together and fight the Dark Elves. They could do it you know, the only problem is that Wizards are taught from a young age that magic is an individual sport, not a team one."

"Thats why it took the Dragon Wizards years before they joined the war?" I questioned, "because the other wizards taught them that they needed to go in alone."

He nodded his head, "yep."

I laughed lightly, "I don't want to do it alone.

"Good choice."
