The next morning (you had to sleep in the awkwardly fitting clothes), Hiccup and Y/n left the house and met the dragons on the side of the cottage, "Come on bud."

D/n looked very happy to see you, she had been sleeping as far away from toothless as she felt was acceptable, "Hi babes. How did you sleep?"

She gargled and purred and head butted me, "Good."

Hiccup clambered up Toothless and braced for the dragon's take off. I anchored into d/n's saddle, Hiccup checked back at you and you nodded slightly giving him the okay to take off. d/n followed them through the air and to another, smaller, cottage. You both dismounted and Hiccup stepped up and knocked on the door. A fit blonde answered, "Hey- Who's this."

"I'm Y/n."

"She needs some clothes," Hiccup chuckled.

"I can see that. Come inside." She turned and lead us in, "Close the door behind you."

Hiccup allowed you to go first and shut the door softly once you were both inside. The girl's house was neatly decorated with weapons of all types, symbolic shields above the hearth.

"Y/n right? Call me Astrid. Follow me." Astrid lead you upstairs, "I hope my clothes will fit you."

"Can't be worse then Hiccup's," Y/n laughed looking down at the pants sagging off her hips. Astrid grinned and let out a small sneering laugh, "He should have brought you here last night."

"I was fine, had to get settled, and he asked his dad if I could stay."

Astrid dug through a crest at the foot of her bed, "I guess, okay so here's what I have," she pulled out a burgundy wrap. You smiled, "Do you mind if I-" You gestured to the over sized shirt.

"Oh yeah, go ahead," Astrid answered. Y/n pulled it off and started the wrap.

"Do you need help?" Astrid offered.

"Oh yeah, thanks!"

"Arms up," Astrid requested, you quickly obliged and lifted your arms. She wrapped the thick long strands tightly around your body. Luckily her size seemed to fit you quite well.

"As for bottoms, I don't think I have anymore skirts," She apologized.

"That's fine. I really don't care," You exclaimed shaking your hand. She dug through her chest of furs and cloth. After half the clothes were on the floor she pulled out a pair of tight black pants.

"Perfect." She walked over to you with them. You let the pants fall around your ankles and stepped out of them; she held the pants out to you and you pulled them on.

"Thanks." you smiled, she mirrored the smile.

"You're welcome," she sorted the clothing around her room back into the chest. You waited for Astrid to finish; the two of you walked downstairs together. Hiccup was staring at a shield. You held the folded clothes out for him, "Hiccup."
He turned around and took the clothes looking my body up and down, "Her clothes fit you much better." A smile across his face. You nodded.

"Alright, come on." He put his hand around your back leading you out. You blushed a bit at this touch.

"Bye Astrid," he called out to her.

"Bye Hiccup, y/n!"

"Bye," You called the door closing.

"Where to now?" You asked Hiccup jumping up onto d/n's back.

"Well I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. So I think we should head to the great hall and get some lunch," he looked at you, "Then I'll introduce you to Gobber."

"Okay." you smiled and nodded.

"Great." Hiccup and Toothless took off and you and d/n followed as usual. The dragons landed outside of the largest building on the island.

"This is the great hall, lunch and dinner are usually served here."

You smiled and followed him inside. Vikings crowded the tables and spaces in between; it was lunch. The air was filled with the smell of bread. You could just barely see over the plates and shoulders of the other vikings to see not only fresh bread, but chicken and a few different vegetables as well. Hiccup lead you to the back of the hall; a plate was filled for each of you and you sat down in the far back corner away from a lot of the noise.

"How did you get d/n?"

Your eyes widened, "I don't really remember- it was when I was very young."

"Oh wow. You guys must have a really strong bond."

"You and Toothless have a really strong bond; how long have you been training him?"

"Long enough," Hiccup chuckled, "I've been training him for a year, two years."

"And you're already so connected! It's amazing. You two fit together so well."

Hiccup flushed, "Thanks. I work really hard with him."

"And you have a saddle, and all that technology for his fin."

"Yeah. Handmade."

"By who!"

Hiccup laughed and blushed a bit more, "I made it, when I first found him."

"It's amazing. You'll have to tell me the story of how you found Toothless!"

"Thanks but it's a longer story, so maybe another time." Hiccup smiled, his face peaking at a bright pink from your flattery, "speaking of my inventions, Gobber's the one who taught me everything I know. When you're ready."

Hiccup stood and you finished your last piece of bread.

The shop was mostly open and filled from top to bottom with tools and weapons. A large man with a few missing limbs was working in the back corner.

"Gobber!" The man turned around, "I want you to meet y/n... and her Nightfury."

Gobblers eyes widened, "She's got a Nightfury?"

"Her name's d/n." You stroked her nose and she purred at the touch.

"A female Nightfury!" He chuckled awkwardly, "Interesting."

Toothless growled lightly; the rest of us laughing at him.

"Gobber's taught me everything I know, and everything I needed to make Toothless' Saddle."

"But e's not perfect. Still learning."

Hiccup laughed, "I never said I was perfect.C'mon I'll show you where I come up with designs."

He pulled back the curtain in the back to display a small workspace practically covered with paper; each paper was coated in sketches. It took you a few minutes to take everything in.

"Wow."

 Hiccup chuckled, "Thanks?"

You noticed a large leather book on the desk hidden under a few papers, "What's that?"

"Oh uh..." You stepped forward and picked to book up, sliding the papers to the side.

"That's uh kinda private."

"What is it your journal?" You teased.

"No. We just don't usually show that to new people."

"What are you worried about?" You read the cover, "The Book of Dragons". Your eyes widened, this was the book of dragons.

"Y/n," Hiccup took the book from your hands, "It's not personal, but I can't let you read this."

Y/n looked down, "No, I get it. You don't know me, why should you trust me."

Hiccup was silent.

"Well I'll just have to earn your trust then." you smiled laughing lightly.  Hiccup smiled back up at you, reassured.
