Berk continues to feel more and more like home. Especially now that you have a schedule: You wake up and help feed the dragons, then Hiccup takes you to Gobbers where you spend some of the day messing with the dragons, or flying on D/n (but never for too long because Toothless couldn't fly with them; sometimes he ran under them though.), and sometimes you annoyed Hiccup while he worked: This was one of those times.
"Have you ever tried to make Toothless a tail that works by itself?" You leaned over the back of a chair watching him working.
"Actually yeah, I have."
"Why don't you put it on him? Afraid he'll leave?"
"No. I've put it on him before, once when the other dragons were migrating."
"What did he do?"
"Smashed it up."
"Seriously?" You exclaimed, shocked.
"It's okay, he didn't beat it up too bad and he flew off to find my helmet; gave it back to me for Snoggletog."
"He's a cutie."
Hiccup smiled, "He's the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself."
"Or a scaly kitten."
Hiccup laughed more, you couldn't wipe the smile off your face. Toothless had overheard you talking about him and snuck in to give you kisses. Slorp! Toothless' slimy tongue slid up the side of your face, your smile dropped briefly. Hiccup almost fell over laughing.
"Toothless!" You said shocked. Toothless rumbled in a mock laugh. You held the sides of his face and shook it gently, "Why'd you gotta' slobber all over me? Huh?" Toothless head butted you slightly and you smiled. Hiccup watched you play with him out of the corner of his eye.
"So Hiccup..."
"Hmm?"
Y/n wanted to ask about the book of dragons, just to bring it up again, but she was a little scared to, "When can we go for a ride?"
"Soon. I'm almost done."
You smiled, "Good 'cause I'm bored."
Hiccup chuckled, "If you really want to do something you can go to my desk and grab the plans for this," he shook his arm making the wood he was holding move, "should be somewhere on the desk."
"You really want me going through your desk?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I dunno last time you said you didn't trust me..."
Hiccup put down the wood and turned to look at you, "Y/n. I've gotten to know you know... Plus, what are you gonna do? Take my stuff and run to my house."
"I have a dragon, I could just fly away."
Hiccup wrapped his hands around your waist and pulled you a bit closer, "Is that a threat, y/n?"
Your forehead leaned on his, "Maybe..."
Hiccup smiled, "I'll just have to keep a close eye on you then."
You smiled back at him, the look in his eyes giving you a little unidentifiable flutter. The moment lasted a bit longer than you two had intended. You backed out of him arms slowly, "I should go get the plans."
Hiccup blushed, "Yeah- thanks."
You pushed your way through the curtains into the back room, the paper covered walls demanded your attention. But you stopped staring at them and started running through the papers on his desk. You looked at design after design until you found one that looked right. Still staring at the page you walked out of the curtains.
"Is this it?"
Hiccup looked up and you turned the paper towards him.
"Yeah that looks right."
His hand slipped behind your head pushing you towards him. He laid a kiss on your forehead, thanked you softly, and continued to work on his project.
Your face flushed from the attention, you sat back down.
"Hey, y/n, what do you think about me making dinner for just us tonight?" Hiccup didn't look up from his work as he spoke.
"I didn't know you cooked?"
"I can cook enough that you won't spit it out... I wouldn't call it a talent or anything," He chuckled.
"Yeah... That sounds nice," You smiled, "I'll meet you at the house later. I have some errands to run."
You were gonna make a run to Bucket's farm and ask if he had any of those special candles left. He had made them smell like different flowers the last time, and the time before that they were dyed bright colors. He's always experimenting.
She chuckled quietly as she left the shop.
"Bye mi'lady!"
"Bye Hic!"Mulch and Bucket shared a sheep farm over the hill, no more than a five minute walk from Gobber's shop. D/n accompanied you as you walked. Clunk, clunk, clunk, your fist rapped on the wooden door on the small house. Mulch opened the door.
"Hi y/n."
"Hi Mulch! I'm looking for Bucket..."
"He's in the back working on his hobby."
Mulch stepped aside and let you in. After closing the door he lead you to a small room in the backside of the house where Bucket was sitting facing a window.
"You've got a vistor Bucket."
He turned around quickly.
"Ooh, Y/n!"
"Hi Bucket. I was wondering if you had any candles I could buy for tonight?"
"Tonight? What kind do ya want?"
"I donno. If I'm being honest, something a bit... romantic?"
"Ooh plans for tonight?"
You're face heated up, "Something like that, yeah."
Bucket chuckled, "Well I colored a few candles the other day... blue, green, yellow... Oh and red!"
"Red. If you don't mind."
"Of course not!" Bucket pulled the candles off of the shelf and handed them to you. Immediately you dug through your pocket for the money to pay him.
"Not for this one y/n," he put his hand on your rummaging shoulder and smiled, "You've supported the candles enough with the couple of lavender ones you bought last week. I'd be happier if you could suggest them to some other people around the village."
"Thank you so much Bucket!"D/n gave you a ride back to the shop, Hiccup wasn't there.
"How about a ride around Berk before we go to the hut?"
D/n gargled happily at the notion. You put the candles in her saddle bag and lifted yourself onto her back.
