Days have gone by slower after we have arrived in solitude. The time seemed to pass tormentingly as we wandered around and also wondered if there was any other human soul to find close by.
With enclosed hands we sat by a tree that grew not too far away from where we slept those last two days. Some leaves were rustling on the ground, but other than that it was completely silent.
"It's beautiful, this silence. It reminds me that I won't die anytime soon."
"It's beautiful with someone else, isn't it?"
"No."
He whispered almost inaudibly as he turned my face by my chin with his index finger.
"It's beautiful with you."
It wasn't that only silence engulfed us when our faces slowly leaned closer to the other before our lips collided in a warm kiss; the time around us had stopped, even when his hands placed themselves on my face.
When did it continue to be felt again? Probably when another bullet shot struck the air, the silence crackling before it crumbled to nothing once and for all.
