24. Calm Before The Storm

Shanaya POV:

"And check mate." Izuna said playing his last turn on the game of shogi.

I sighed. "I lost again."

"Do you seriously think that you could beat me so easily. It would take you a thousands years before you can defeat me in the game." He said grinning.

"Yeah whatever." I said raising my hands to my sides making chuckle. He began placing the pieces in their box.

It had been five days ever since that day. Izuna and I both are healthy and fit now. Everyone was really happy to know that he is fine. They all just know that Madara brought him back here in time so his life was saved. No one knows about my involvement in it. And it is good.

"So Shanaya"

"Yeah"

"How-" he was cut off in between with a knock on the door.

"Come in" he commanded. Soon a man entered the room.

"Izuna sama meeting will began in about an hour. Madara sama told me to remind of it." He stated.

"Tell him that I will be there in time."

"Hai Izuna sama." He bowed to which Izuna nodded and then he left.

"Meeting?" I gave him a questioning look.

"About the Senju's. We are wondering about forming an alliance with them."

"What?" I said extremely shocked about the news I have just received. Alliance with the Senjus. Really.

"Yeah. Everyone's gotten tired of fighting all the time and they all want peace. How come they all see little children walking over to the battlefields." He said the last words sadly. "I have also seen my three brothers die. They were all so young. I have seen their dead bodies right infront of me. I myself have seen them all getting buried." He said clenching his fists and gritting his teeth. His head was lowered. He can't even look into my eyes.

I feel so bad for him. I have always seen Madara in such state but Izuna for the very first time. "Izuna" I murmured and cupped his cheeks. "It's alright. Everything will be alright."

"Yeah it will be. I don't know why did I picked this topic up." He said raising his heads up.

"It's OK" I said giving him a smile trying to lighten the mood.

"And I don't want something like that to happen again. I don't want little children to forget their childhood. They need to play instead of fighting."

"Do you know what Shanaya. We were never given toys to play with. Instead we were given weapons to practice with. At very low age we were sent on to battlefields to kill. To kill others in order to protect ours."

He chuckled in pain. "Isn't that Ironic." I gave him a little smile not knowing what to do.

"Do you know that aniki and Hashirama had been friends." He asked.

"Yeah I do. He told me himself."

"And about his dream."

"Yeah he told me all about that."

"He doesn't talks about it to anyone. The fact that he talked about it to you clearly explains how much important you are to him." My eyes widened and I looked at him shocked. I had never expected him to talk to me about it.

"What do you think? Does he still have that dream in his mind?" I asked him out of curiosity.

"Yeah he do" he replied within a second.
