Alex's POV

Two weeks had passed and things had been mellow. Payton and I just seemed to stay away from each other, her and Luke stopped sitting by each other and used one of the other boys to keep them from sitting together at lunch. Things with Michael we're better than everything else, we started dating a little early, we'd only known each other for a little while, but we were getting to know each other. Michael said that he decided to just go for it and ask me out because anybody he ever liked and waited to go after rejected him. I felt bad about that, but I was glad we were together now.

I walked into my house, today was Friday so I had the whole weekend to just relax and not think about school. I went into the kitchen and realized there was a note sitting on the counter, I picked it up knowing who it was from.

'I have a meeting tonight, I won't be home for a while.

Of course, dad was never home. Sometimes I saw him before I went to bed, but some days I didn't see him at all. His job was rough on the hours, but he was making good money and that's why we moved here. I was kind of glad we did or I wouldn't have met any of my new friends. My dad was a business man and he really loved working at it. Why? I don't know, I wouldn't be able to handle it, but it makes him happy.

I just wish my dad was home more, it's not that hard to deal with, but it's not good for Henry. Speaking of Henry, where is that little boy?

I heard quiet voices upstairs and figured my mom and my brother were in his room. I went up there to find him and my mom building with legos at his small table, more Henry than my mom she was just watching him.

"Hi Henry, how was your day?" I said, sitting next to him. I felt really protective over my little brother, I guess I just didn't want anything bad to happen to him.

"Great!" he said simply, continuing with his legos.

"Can I help?" I asked and Henry nodded in excitement. He handed me a few legos and we built a small tower together.

"Can you take over?" my mom asked quietly. "I have to get dinner started."

I nodded in response as she left the room.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I pulled it out to see Michael had texted me.

Hey babe :)

I smiled at the text. "Why are you smiling?" Henry asked, watching me.

"The Michael boy I told you about," I explained, "remember I want you to meet him?"

Henry nodded, going back to his legos. That sparked an idea in my head, I quickly hit the reply button on Michael's text.

Hey, are you busy?

Michael had never been inside my house, maybe that was because we just started dating. But I didn't want him meeting my parents--well my mom to be a big deal, I just wanted him to come over and hang out.

Noooope :)

Perfect.

To: Michael<3
Can you come over? My brother really wants to meet you :)

From: Michael<3
Sure! See you in a few.

"Hey Henry, Michael's gonna come over." I told him.
