Chapter 14: Night Hike part One

Louis and Hana came into the room to see Harry sitting beside Jeremy's bed; having a conversation with the boy. They both turned their heads to the arrival of Hana and Louis; smiling. Hana's eyes widened when she saw Jeremy sitting up in bed, very much awake.

'Jer!' Hana almost shouted in excitement. She quickly wheeled herself to the side of his bed when Harry stood up and joined Louis side. Hana threw her arms around Jeremy and hugged him tightly. 'You're up!' She exclaimed to which he chuckled and nodded. 'I was so worried!' Hana admitted when she pulled back from the hug.

'You don't have to worry about me Hana. Im fine, don't worry okay?' He reassured her. She nodded and went in to hug him again.

'Im really glad you're awake Jeremy. Louis and I are just going for a walk, we'll leave you and Hana to have some time to talk. I'll see you in a bit.' Harry hugged Jeremy, and then left the staff house with Louis. As they were outside; Harry joined their fingers together.

'Is Niall okay?' Harry asked; worried about his counsellor. Louis pursed his lips for a second and then followed with the answer.

'He and Zayn are having some problems. I'm a bit confused about the whole situation to be honest. There is something big that they aren't telling me so I don't really know what's going on.' Louis said and Harry nodded.

'Should I be worried about him?' Harry asked and Louis shook his head.

'He'll be fine. It's just a rough patch that they're going through, no need to worry.' Louis squeezed Harry's hand. 'How's your family doing?' Louis asked changing the subject. Harry smiled at the thought of his family.

'Great! My mum and dad miss me of course but they're doing good! Ariel hits the two month mark right away! As far as I know, Liam and Danielle are doing great! They picked a date for their wedding which is exciting.' Harry informed him. Louis smiled at Harry's obvious fondness for his family. 'Hey Lou I was thinking, after camp are we still able to be friends? Or are we just completely breaking things off? I mean we have less than a month left. ' Harry wondered. Louis bit his lip. He hadn't really thought about this, but he knew what the answer had to be. The silence that followed gave Harry his answer. 'Alright. Camp only. I get it.' Harry hung his head.

'It's just better that way.' Louis explained. Harry only nodded. Louis stood up on his tiptoes and pressed a quick kiss to Harry's cheek making him blush. 'Come on, lets see that smile.' Louis prodded at Harry's cheeks with his fingers; lightly poking where the dimples should appear. Harry shook his head, so Louis pressed his lips against Harry's. Seconds later he felt Harry's lips turn up into a smile. Louis giggled against Harry's lips and pulled back; grinning at the boy. 'Cutest. Guy. Ever.' Louis breathed out making Harry turn an even darker shade of pink. Harry let go of Louis's hand to wrap a hand around his waist. Louis placed his head against Harry's shoulder and yawned. 'I'm sleepy.' Louis admitted. Harry smiled in fondness at the boy.

'Let's go have a sleep then.' Harry ordered. Louis nodded and directed the two towards their cabin. They crawled under the blankets of Harry's bed; a space separating them. Harry opened his arms for Louis to crawl into. Harry lay on his back with his arms around Louis; who had his head on Harry's chest and his arm resting lightly on Harry's torso. 'Louis, I like you a lot.' Harry said after a few minutes of silence. Louis hummed quietly.

'I like you too.' Louis said sleepily to Harry. His eyes were closed; almost asleep. 'So sleepy.' Louis quietly breathed out; sleep hitting him.

'Louis, i love you.' Harry said but when no response came, he knew that Louis had already fallen asleep. He breathed out a sigh of both frustration and relief. Frustrated that Louis hadn't heard, but at the same time relieved that he hadn't.

Harry pressed a kiss to the top of Louis's head and snuggled closer to the boy. 'Sleep well Lou.'

Louis slowly opened his eyes to a dimly lit cabin. He shivered from the cold and snuggled in closer to Harry next to him. Harry tightened his arms around Louis, making Louis's heart flutter. He saw Harry's closed eyes and realised that he was still asleep. Louis stared at the sleeping boy with a smile on his face. He brought on of his hands up to rest on Harry's cheek. Louis ran his thumb down Harry's cheek and suddenly felt a bit sad at the thought of leaving this boy at the end of camp. The more he began to think about it the sadder it made him. He shook his head to push away the thoughts; and rested his head back onto Harry's chest. Taking one of Harry's hands into his, linking their fingers together. Just as he became cozy again, the door burst open and two people came into the cabin laughing loudly. Hana and Jeremy. They stopped abruptly when their eyes fell upon the two figures cuddling in bed. Their eyes widened and they smiled. Harry groaned and his eyes fluttered open. He buried his face into Louis's hair making Louis giggle.

'Ughh you woke me up.' Harry groaned into Louis's hair, making Louis shake his head.

'Wasn't me.' Louis said shooting Jeremy and Hana an accusing look. They smiled sheepishly guiltily.

'Sorry Styles.' Hana said and laughed along with Jeremy. 'Didn't mean to ruin the moment between you and your girl here.' Hana winked at Louis and then grabbed Jeremy's wrist. 'C'mon Jer. Lets leave these two love birds alone.' Jeremy chuckled and nodded; pushing Hana's wheelchair out of the cabin. When they left Louis sat up but was immediately pulled back down from the waist by Harry.

'Don't leave me, 'm cold.' Harry shivered and pulled Louis in closer to him; nuzzling his face into Louis's neck; kissing it once. 'Let's stay just like this for the rest of the day.' Harry said but Louis chuckled.

'As much as i'd love to, our cabin is going on a hike after supper tonight. Supper should be right away.' Louis kissed Harry's cheek and then pulled himself out of the bed making Harry whine. 'Come on babe, get up.' Louis grabbed Harry's hand and lightly tugged the boy out. He didn't let go as the both of them put on their shoes and left the cabin to walk to the mess hall for supper. 'We'll cuddle another day i promise.' Louis promised Harry who smiled and nodded his head.

'I smell lasagna. Oh my goodness is it lasagna?' Harry asked as they stepped into the mess hall. Louis laughed and nodded.

'Sure is.' Louis answered and pulled Harry's hand to get some food for the two of them. He grabbed two plates and put food on each.

'Lots of lasagna for me please.' Harry smiled from ear to ear as Louis put 2 scoops of lasagna onto his plate. Louis then grabbed a glass of water for each of them and walked to the table where Hana and Jeremy were sitting.

'Well well well if it isn't the two love birds. Louis's still walking straight so i'm guessing that means you didn't do the dirty, and by dirty I mean sex.' Hana said as the two sat down. Louis choked on the water he had just taken a sip of and widened his eyes.

'Jesus Hana, at the table?!' Jeremy retorted but was smiling at the same time. Hana raised her eyebrows and chuckled. 'You're disgusting.' Jeremy said to which Hana smiled and pinched his cheeks.

'Yeah but you love me.' She lightly tapped his cheek and then turned back to her food still smiling. Jeremy sighed.

'Unfortunately, I do.' Jeremy said making Hana smile wider. 'You're my fave.' Jeremy winked at her making her laugh, and Harry gasp.

'I'm truly hurt Jeremy.' Harry jokingly placed a hand over his heart and made a sad face. The table laughed and Jeremy was quick to respond.

'Don't worry babe, you're my favourite in bed.' Jeremy purred. Hana laughed and then raised her eyebrows at him.

'You call me disgusting?!' She exclaimed, to which Jeremy only nodded and laughed.

'Hana you're just jealous that I have Harry in bed and not you.' Jeremy then said, making Hana gasp. Louis quickly interrupted.

'Actually Harry's off limits.' Louis said and the four of them began to laugh; all getting along very well.

'I know i know, I have a girlfriend back home as well.' Jeremy informed Louis who smiled and nodded. The rest of the supper continued on like this; jokes being made and everyone laughing happily, perfectly content.

Cabin 7 was lined up in front of the woods; ready for their night hike. It was pitch black out, with only their flashlights and the moon as a light source. The cabin and Zayn would hike through the woods until they came to a small clearing where they would camp with tents for the night. At sunrise, they would head back to camp. Zayn and Niall were in charge of the hike; having been on it before. Although there was tension between the two. Zayn wasn't making eye contact with Niall, as much as Niall tried to catch his eye. He hadn't spoken a word to him since that morning, and things were very tense between them.

'Alright that's everyone. Does everyone have a partner?' Zayn asked the group before him. 'Does anyone not have a partner?' He asked again. Nick was the only one to raise his hand. 'I thought you're with Niall.'

'I'm with you.' Niall quickly said but Zayn shook his head without making eye contact. 'But i'm alw-

'Nick you can be Niall's partner. Niall's needs a partner as well.' Zayn said and Nick smiled walking over to stand beside Niall. 'Alright that settles it, lets get started. Everyone stick with your partner and keep to the trail. Follow me.' Zayn said and began to walk into the woods. Zayn was in front followed by Niall and Nick, then Noah and Tony, followed by Jeremy and Sam, and at last Louis and Harry.

'Have you been on this hike before?' Harry asked Louis as they began to walk up a steeper part of earth. Louis shook his head.

'No not yet. Well i mean, i've been on the path but never as a night hike.' Louis informed him. Harry nodded and they continued to walk up the hill. They soon came to a fork in the path. A tree on one of the paths had a red ribbon tied around it for a marking directing them down the right trail.

'Everybody stick to the trail marked with red! This is important, because the other trail isn't safe at all. Watch your step here, there are some fallen branches.' Zayn said as they arrived at the two separate paths.

'Take my hand babe.' Louis told Harry but Harry smiled and shook his head.

'I want to do this all alone remember. I know I can do it.' Harry protested and Louis raised his hands in defence.

'Alright alright lets go then.' Louis said and began to walk down the path marked with the red ribbon. He continue to walk in silence, listening to Sam excitedly telling stories for about ten minutes. 'Sam's such a cutie isn't he?' Louis told Harry to which he got no response. 'Are you getting tired yet?' Louis asked Harry. Harry didn't answer. Louis smiled and turned his head to ask again but only saw darkness. His smile dropped as did his stomach. 'Harry?' Louis asked the darkness; shining the light of the flashlight behind him. The only thing he saw was the empty path and trees. No sign of Harry. 'Shit.' Louis said to himself and then panicked. 'Zayn stop! Wait!' Louis shouted to the front leader. The line of campers stopped moving; Zayn walking back to Louis.

'Whats wrong?' Zayn shone the flashlight onto Louis; careful not to shine his eyes.

'Harry's gone. I'm so stupid. I should have just held his hand when he said no. It's all my fault oh god.' Louis began to ramble making Zayn put a hand on his shoulder to calm him

'Wait wait Louis slow down. What do you mean he's gone?'

'Oh god Zayn. He went down the other trail.'



A/N woooah Harry, whatcha doin on the other path?? :O
As you can see, i enjoy cliffhangers.

But how was the chapter? Everyones getting alone yaaaay.....except for Zayn and Niall. Sad.
