LISTEN TO THE SONG "I WILL FOLLOW YOU INTO THE DARK" BY DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE! I'VE LINKED IT!

Walking into the cemetery on a warm day in August of 2019, Hana Griffen couldn't be any happier to see her life time best friend. As a light breeze blew, Hana hugged her tan cardigan across her large torso. She let her hands rest upon the large bump of her stomach and smiled as she felt a small kick just as she layed her hand down.

She only had to walk a few rows before she sat down next to her best friend. Hana carefully sat down with her legs crossed, her belly fitting in-between. 'Gosh am I ever fat!' Hana exclaimed to the boy with a light chuckle. When she didn't hear the familiar laughter reciprocate her grin slowly faded. 'Hey Jeremy.' Hana reached forward and placed a hand on the marble slab that marked the spot where Jeremy lay below. It remained quiet for a few minutes with only the sound of birds chirping preventing the moment from falling into total silence. The feeling of butterflies in Hana's stomach made her pull her hand back from the stone and place it on her bump instead. She looked down to her belly and smiled before looking back at the grave. 'He's kicking a lot. He must like you.' Hana laughed and then furrowed her eyebrows. 'I've just been saying "he"without realizing it. It could be a girl, but i've just got this feeling it's a little boy.' Hana admitted and then felt a sudden surge of love for the little human in her care.

'It's great Jer. Being a mum, I mean. It'll be even better when he or she is actually here.'Hana rubbed her belly in a loving matter. 'Cullen and I were thinking of Winter for a girl and Jeremy for a boy. Either way, this baby will be named after the greatest person i've ever had the pleasure of knowing.' Hana said with absolute truth. 'God do I ever miss you Jer. I just miss you more and more everyday. People say it's supposed to get easier. It's been five years without you. When's it going to start getting easier Jer?' The girl asked, almost frustrated.

'It wasn't supposed to be like this. You weren't supposed to leave us so quickly. You were supposed to be by my side forever. You should have been the first one I called when I got engaged. The first person I told about my surgery. You were supposed to be there when I woke up from it and held my hand when I took my first steps. And you're supposed to be here now! To be the best uncle my baby will have. I want my best friend back. Why did you have to leave?' When Hana was finished she brought her hands up to her face and let the tears pool.

After silently crying for a little while, she lifted her red, puffy eyes up from her hands but bit her bottom lip as it wobbled with another fresh wave of tears. This time she swallowed it down and sucked in a deep breath before speaking. 'Why do bad things happen to good people Jer?' She shook her head and started picking at the grass; then continued. 'You didn't deserve to get cancer. Your parents didn't deserve to lose a child and poor Katie didn't deserve to lose her big brother. Harry didn't deserve to lose his best friend. Annalise didn't deserve to have the love of her life taken from her, yeah I can be a sassy prick but I sure as hell didn't deserve to lose you either.' Hana was almost angry when she finished. 'I just wish you were here with me.' She added on and then rested her arms on top of the marble stone, then layed her head on top of her arms.

'Hey Jer, do you remember that time you were at my house and it was just us there alone for the weekend? It was before you had put a stop to the chemo. Anyway, I remember when we were just laying on our backs in the grass talking about random stuff. We were betting on who would be the first one of us to get married and have kids. We promised each other that you would be the godfather to my kids and I would be the godmother to yours. What now Jer? What do I do? You kept saying how you were excited to have children in the future and get married. You were so full of life and so full of hope. Oh how I wish your hopes could have came true. I only wish the best for you wherever you are now Jeremy. I want nothing more than for you to be happy. Jeremy my darling, I love you so much. I will continue to love you from here without until I see your twinkling eyes again and your beautiful smile, when i'll be able to love you while in your presence. Until that day comes Jer, rest easy buddy. I'll come see you again soon yeah? Next time though, I won't be coming alone. You'll get to meet the spawn of this beast.' Hana laughed light heartedly and then stood up but not before pressing a kiss to the headstone. 'Here, i've brought you something.' Hana reached into the brown leather bag that was hanging low from her shoulder and pulled out a picture. Once again, Hana felt a wave of love sweep over her as her eyes lay upon the ultrasound picture. She crouched down with ease and placed the ultrasound picture of her baby on the stone. She let her hand linger for a few moments later and then smiled.

'After having just bawled for an hour, I want you to know i'm happy. I'm really happy. I'm getting married to the love of my life, i'm becoming a mother, and i've got the most amazing friends. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have Harry, Louis, Niall, Zayn and Annalise in my life. You know if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be as happy as I am now. Thank you for being part of my life even if it wasn't for as long as I hoped, but even just having you for those few years was everything I could have ever wanted. You've done so much more for me then you think. So thank you.'

'I'm sure as hell you're getting annoyed with me talking so much now.' Hana laughed and then pulled her purse back onto her shoulder. 'I'll be back soon. I promise. I love you Jer.' With one last smile and wave, Hana Griffen blew a kiss and then walked away once again from the place where Jeremy Matt Winters lay in eternal slumber.
