Love is Blind (Larry Stylinson AU)

A/N And so i'm back with another one shot! This one shot was also requested by the user rhiclifford. So thank you very much for the request :) Remember, you can all comment any requests you have and i'll try to do them. I just love writing this story :)

 

It was 4:00am one night in the Reynolds' household when the cry of an infant broke the air and ruptured the night's silence. The two lovers both woke with a startle and inwardly groaned. The male of the two, Cullen, sat up with closed eyes and rubbed a hand over his eyes.

'No, you get some rest. I'll go.' The female, Hana, said before her fiance could go tend to their crying infant. She also sat up with clenched eyes and grabbed her prosthetic legs from beside her bedside table. 

'You went last time, you don't have to go again sweets. Lay back.' Cullen stood up, disagreeing with his fiance. Hana's stubborn attitude made itself known when she shook her head again.

'No, I want to go.' Knowing better than to argue with Hana Griffen, Cullen just sighed and sat back on the bed; ready to fall asleep again but not before pressing a kiss to Hana's shoulder. It only took Hana about a minute to put on the prosthetics before going to her child's room. Her stomach was still a bit tender from the cesarean section a month previous, and so she had to walk with ease. Her infants room was right next to hers and so she was in the room within a few seconds. She didn't bother turning on the light before walking over to the baby's crib. Sensing the presence of someone in the room, the babies wails silenced for a moments time but started up again right away. Hana reached down into the crib and carefully lifted the fragile human into her arms. She walked the few steps over to the rocking chair in the room and sat down.

Hana's eyes could just make out her child's features in the dark and watched as the baby's large eyes blinked a few times before closing again. The wails had now subsided but still remained even though the eyes were closed. Hana chuckled and pressed a kiss to her baby's forehead. 

'My sweet, sweet Winter.' Hana said and nuzzled her nose gently against her daughters tiny button nose. Quietly, she started humming a gentle tune until the only noise that came from Winter was the tiny snuffles and squeaks of slumber. 

As much as Hana wanted to stay there holding and admiring her daughter, she knew that she should get some sleep. Without waking the sleeping baby, Hana put Winter back into her crib and then quickly turned around at the sound of footsteps approaching. Seeing that it was Cullen made her shake her head but smile at the boy. 

'I told you I'd get her.' Hana said but turned back to watch the baby in the crib. She felt Cullen wrap his arms around her waist and rest his chin atop her head, also watching the baby.

'I know, I just wanted to see her again.' Cullen spoke in a hushed whisper with nothing but absolute adoration and love for their daughter. 'We did good babe.' He spoke again quietly. 

'Yeah, we did. We really did.'

'Surprise bitch.' This was the first thing Hana said as one of her best friends opened the door with a complete look of shock on her pretty face. Hana grinned as the girl shrieked and immediately wrapped her arms around Hana. The two girl stood in the doorway hugging for a few minutes before Winter let out a shriek from the baby carriage next to Hana's feet, letting the two adults know that she was there and wanted attention. This separated the two girls with a giggle.

'Come in! I must get my hands on this beautiful daughter of yours.' The girl held the door open so that Hana could walk through it with the baby cradle in her hand and a suitcase in her other. With the door then closed behind them, Hana placed the baby cradle on the table and grabbed the other girl in another quick hug.
