Chapter Ten
Devin
Since Charisma wanted to play all big and bad and really push me to the side instead of her pussy-ass boyfriend, I was going to go my separate way. The night before I decided to move on when this girl named Sharice called me talking about she been crushing on me for a while. I really didn't like Sharice because she was on the cheerleading team, and she basically ran through the whole football team if I'm not mistaken, but I was only using her to make Charisma jealous.
"Hey, baby, I got your soda like you asked," Sharice said handing me the soda and leaning on me.
"Thanks, babe," I said as she kissed me softly on the lips.
I guess Sharice was trying hard to keep me cuffed, but that wasn't going to happen. I didn't care if it took me thirty years. I was going to tell Charisma I loved her. As me and Sharice continued talking, I saw Charisma pass by with Jarell. She stared at me so hard, and her eyes widened when she saw Sharice give me the juiciest kiss on my lips, so she just rolled her eyes and continued walking with Jarell. Me, my boys, and Sharice stood there until the first bell rang just chilling until I heard Kristy loud-ass down the hall. I knew she was going to freak when she saw me and Sharice because not too long ago they both got into a little fight. She saw me and stopped right in her tracks.
"We need to talk now," she said grabbing my arm. Sharice wasted no time before she grabbed my other arm.
"Ummm, where are you taking him?" Sharice questioned. Kristy just looked at her and laughed.
"Let me tell you something, hoe, I will break you in half just like last time, so if you don't move your ass somewhere..."
Sharice let go, and me and Kristy walked across the hall.
"What you doing with that hoe?" I turned my head ignoring the question. "Please don't tell me you doing this just to get Charisma jealous?"
"No, man, why can't I have a relationship without me trying to make Charisma jealous?"
"I mean you can, but I would never picture you and that hoe together."
"Well, picture it man."
"I guess, but anyways, Toya wants you in the hall by Mr. Shamus class."
I nodded my head and walked away before I grabbed Sharice's hand and signaled for the boys to follow. We walked to the hallway by Mr. Shamus's class, and almost everybody was there even Charisma. I tried not to stare at her, but I saw her hugged up with Jarell. My jealousy meter was hitting a new high, and I hated how Charisma made me feel, but I stood there and held Sharice's hand real tight.
"So some of y'all are here because ya'll know I'm planning a party, and all of ya'll are invited. The theme is the black on black party, and my VIP will wear white as always." Toya said as she sat on her boyfriend Kevin's lap.
She got up and gave everybody an invitation, and luckily I got a VIP invite. Sharice didn't get one at all. I think she was the only one out of everybody who didn't get an invite. Charisma and Kristy got VIP too basically because they were all best friends. After all of the invitations were passed out, everyone began to make their way to class, and I had to pass by Charisma on the way to mine.
"Damn, you finally got a girl, huh?" Jarell laughed.
I quickly turned around and walked over to him. "What you say?" I asked looking straight into his eyes.
"You heard me, man."
I knew Charisma wasn't going to back me up, so I had to defend myself. "So what you wanna do?" I dropped my book bag on the floor as a circle formed around us. Whenever a crowd formed around me, I knew I had to fight regardless of the consequences. I had a reputation to uphold.
"Wassup?" I said as I cracked my knuckles. Charisma put her arm on my chest, but I immediately threw it down.
"Ya'll need to stop," she said looking into my eyes.
"Um, excuse you," Sharice said stepping in, "Your hands are on my boo."
Oh damn, I thought.
"If you don't move, I will beat your ass more worst then how Kristy did you."
I knew some shit was about to pop off and then the unexpected happen. Jarell caught me right in the eye, and I fell to the ground. When I got up, I picked him up and slammed him on the floor. Everybody started yelling. I punched him twice in the face and slammed him on the ground again with no remorse.
"Beat his ass, Dev," Stevie yelled.
Despite all of the commotion, I could still hear Charisma yelling in the background.
"Get the fuck off me, hoe," she said.
I let go of Jarell's punk-ass and ran over to Charisma to try and separate her from Sharice, but Charisma kept on punching and punching. I attempted to pry her grip from Sharice's hair, but when I finally did, I picked Charisma up and carried her over my shoulder.
"Devin, let me go," she yelled. I put her down, but she was trying her best to get back to the fight. She beat on my chest while I just held her in my arms. I was willing to let her do it for as long as she needed to. I just wanted her to calm the fuck down.
"Devin," she said sobbing on my chest.
"I know, alright? No need to say sorry," I said wiping away her tears.
When the tears finally stopped, I grabbed her book bag and walked her to her class without all the drama. We walked all the way to the third floor nowhere near Jarell's classes.
"I'm sorry, but you know your boyfriend started the whole thing, man."
"It's okay. I 'm going to talk to him later anyway," she said resting her head on my chest.
"So we cool?"
"Yeah, of course we cool," she said kissing me on the cheek.
Finally, I thought. I couldn't handle not being around her.
