Chapter Thirteen
Charisma
The next day, I skipped school, so I could spend time with Jarell at his house. His parents were on vacation, so we had the house to ourselves. We basically spent the morning fucking until we fell asleep. When we woke up, we spent the rest of the day watching movies. Jarell was basically everything to me by this point. I was totally in love with him, and when he said that we would be together forever, I believed him.
"So who you babysitting tomorrow?" I asked him as I laid my head on his chest.
"My cousins are coming from Georgia, so I have to watch them and show them around," he said rubbing my stomach.
Sometimes when we had sex, he would bust inside of me, but I didn't mind it. I mean I knew that he would take care of our baby if I ever got pregnant. He had the money and everything to take care of all three of us.
"Well, I'm going to go to the party with Devin."
He looked at me in disbelief. "Why Devin? You can't find anyone else to go with?" he asked as I got up and put on my jeans.
"Kristy is so-called going out of town, and Toya is going to be busy with the party, and Devin is the only person I know who has a car right now, so what can I do?" I asked putting my bra and t-shirt.
Jarell needed to stop overreacting over me and Devin. It was starting to work my damn nerves.
"You need to tell somebody else to bring you up there because I don't trust Devin," he said grabbing my hand. I just rolled my eyes. He gently grabbed my chin and gave me a long, sweet kiss. "Please make somebody else take you, okay?"
"Okay, I will," I lied.
I wasn't listening to Jarrell. I promised Devin that we would go to the party together, and I intended to keep my promise. I loved Jarell and all, but you know how it goes.
The next night, me and Devin were on our way to the party, and he was hyped as hell. He was looking real cute that night. I had to admit. He was wearing a white polo shirt, white Dickies with some all-white Converses, and his blue eyes always made me look at him for too long. I wore a white halter dress with the same white Converses that Devin was wearing. Once we got to the party almost everybody had their eyes on us, but I didn't care.
We walked past the crowd and went straight into the house, and it was packed as hell. People were everywhere.
"Stay close, aight?" Devin said holding onto my hand. I nodded my head, and we walked over to the kitchen when I saw Toya.
"Hey, girl, I'm glad you came," she said giving me a hug.
"You know I got your back," I said.
"So where's Jarell?" she asked looking at Devin and then back at me.
I knew she was going to say something. Devin was basically holding my hand like he was my man. I mean I didn't have a problem with it. He was my best friend.
"He had to take care of his cousins."
"That sucks, but anyways, did tell him?" she asked changing the subject. She couldn't keep her eyes off Devin.
"Tell me what?" he questioned, and we both started laughing.
I was supposed to tell Devin that me and Toya were giving him and Kevin lap dances. It was supposed to be a fun surprise. I couldn't tell if he was hurt or not about breaking up with Sharice, so I thought that I would put his mind on something else either way.
