Dan hated arguing. He hated everything about it. If he won, then he would feel guilty. But if he lost the argument then Dan would be angry. It was a lose lose situation.

But he wasn't going to back down.

Dan had gone to his mother's house to talk, and maybe tell her about him and Kyle. He imagined her face as he told her, smiling as he finally found someone.

That though didn't happen.

The two had been talking, mostly about how Dan felt and what he had been up to. Dan then felt it was the right time after she asked a it how his friend had been.

"Mom, me and Kyle are, uh together." He said, feeling as his cheeks blushed. He then waited for her to smile at him and tell him how great it was. But no.

"You're kidding right." She snorted, suddenly turning cold. He shook his head slowly, feeling all confidence leaving.

"You're gay?" She laughed, tilting her head back.

"Uh, bisexual actually." Dan stuttered.

"Bisexual, Gay it's all the same. I thought I raised you better. Where did we go wrong?" She asked suddenly sad.

"Have you always been gay. Oh my god I let the two of you have sleepovers. What kind of parent am I?" She looked at him, waiting for him to explain.

"Mom it isn't like that!" He shouted. Running a hand threw his hair in an attempt to calm himself.

"I love him!"

"Love isn't meant to be like that Daniel. It's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. You know what happens to gays."

She stood up and started pacing around the living room of their family home.

"They're damned. They go straight to hell." She spit.

Dan wanted to stay and argue. But his mother wasn't prepared to listen. He also didn't want to spend some of his final months arguing.

"Send my regards to hell." He spit, and left.

He left his family home and began walking to the gas station. Kyle had driven him and his mother was going to drive him back.

Dan called Kyle, Kyle agreeing to come pick him up.

Within minutes Kyle showed up, a goofy grin set on his face. But once he noticed Dan's gloomy presence he lost it.

"What's up love?" Kyle asked him.

"It's nothing. Just got in argument with mom." He sighed.

Kyle the got a wild idea, acting on it before thinking too much.

"I'm so sorry." He sighed and began driving off in the direction of the pound.

The two stood, looking at the dozens off dogs waiting to be adopted. Each one looking up, their eyes making Dan weak.

He loved animals. But specifically dogs.

"This one?" Kyle asked, pointing to a fluffy poodle.

"No." Dan said, walking up and down the isle. He the stopped in front of one. It was a puppy, unlike most of the others. It was a tiny light gray puppy that had the lightest blue eyes.

"Looks like you." Kyle smiled, wrapping one arm around his waist. Dan turned, and gave him a small kiss before bending down.

"Do you wanna come home with us?" He asked the small puppy, talking in a high pitched voice. The puppy then stood up, wagging it's tail back in forth.

He then unlocked the cage, and picked up the puppy, feeling the sloppy licks on his cheek.

"This one." He smiled, showing Kyle his new best friend.

"What's it's name?" Kyle asked, petting the tiny puppy.

Dan thought for a moment. And then he got it.

"Blue."

It was perfectly cliche but not too stupid. It fit the dog perfectly.

"I love it." Kyle grinned.

---

That night the two laid in bed, playing with blue. It seemed to be perfect. The dog seemed to love both of them.

Once the two men had fallen asleep the little dog crawled in between them, falling asleep, snoring softly.

I'm sorry this really didn't have any correlation to blame.

If any of you are wondering blue is a weimaraner. They're the sweetest dogs ever, I have one.
