"Kyle!" Dan yelled, feeling as his body felt paralyzed. The pounding gin his head increased, so much that he bent over, feeling as he threw up everything that had been in his stomach. It was all normal, until he looked into the toilet bowl.
Unlike the vomit it normally was, it was all liquid, red from blood. He could feel himself slip in and out of consciousness, his eyes getting harder and harder to open.
Finally he could hear Kyle yelling and blue quietly barking in the background. Kyle was holding him, holding him softly in his arms. All Dan could manage was to look up at Kyle, focusing on his chocolate eyes. Those eyes were full of panic and worry. Dan wanted to tell him not to worry, but before he could he drifted off into unconsciousness.

When Dan woke up, his head hurt more than before. He looked around the similar room, the smell of alcohol and the white walls giving it away immediately.
"How you feel?" The familiar doctor asked him, picking up at the chart at the end of the hospital bed.
"Like shit." He grumbled, trying to pull out the iv in his hand.
"Stop that." He warned, and then sat down at the end of the bed.
"Dan, I know this has been hard. But you know what's happening. I've called your parents, we decided to move you into hospice care. You'll have twenty four hour care."
With that Dan went off. How would he spend days adventuring with Kyle? They had only adopted blue a couple weeks ago. There was so much still on his list, and so much he still had left.
"I can't! You can't make me, in twenty years old I can't take care of myself!" He shouted, the loud noise only increasing the throbbing in his head.
"They only agreed because I'm gay! They don't want me living with him!" Dan yelled, angry tears starting to fall down his face.
"Mr. Smith!" The doctor shushed, the doctor then walked to his head, and took his small hand. He placed Dan's head on his head, where a small lump had formed. Underneath his mass of hair was a small bump he hadn't noticed before.
"You feel this? This is getting bigger at a rate we hadn't anticipated. Dan within weeks you're going to need to be in the hospital. You cannot keep ignoring what's going on. You have to wake up, stop faking it and face reality." He said, this time his tone softer.
"I can't leave him." Dan choked out, feeling as the tears fell onto the bed sheets.
"I had a list." Was all he could manage. It all was crashing down at him.
He was going to die.
"I'll make you a deal. I'll let you leave today, but when you start to feel it getting worse, get to the hospital as soon as you can. Deal?" He asked, pushing he strand of hair from Dan's eyes.
"Deal." Dan sighed, thinking of all the things he wouldn't be able to do.
He wouldn't tell Kyle. He physically couldn't. The thought of leaving the one person he loved behind, almost making him sick again.
