"Elle?" A deep brisk voice questions. I stumble from my slumber. I open my eyes slowly then they widen. I grab my blanket and huddle closer to the trunk.
"It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you. I heard you talking. Are you okay? " the man asks. "I'm, yes." I breathe slowly. "No I'm not. I'm lost in this woods." I chuckle. "Well you are quiet far from the road." He exclaims. "Are you able to stand up?" "My legs are frozen." I laugh excited at the fact that I'm not going to die out here in the wilderness. I remember the video I just made and can't help but laugh.
"Okay then." He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder, blanket and all. He grabs my backpack and starts dragging me and the bag through the snow. My heart pounds at the fact that this stranger has me over his shoulder, and has absolutely no problem at all with it. I know I must weigh a ton though.
We pass a pine tree laying on the snow, with an ax next to it. I thank god that he heard me, right place at the right time. Shit who knows I could have been dead within hours. I look up through the trees. It's already getting dark, I now know that I've been out here for a while.
We finally come to a log cabin. He swings open the door and lays me on the couch.
"I'll get the fire going, to get you warm, then I'm going to get my tree. I'll be back. And Cedar you be a good boy." He points his finger to his dog before turning and throwing slices of wood into the fire place and leaving the cabin.
I slide off the couch and onto the floor moving closer to the fire place. Cedar The man's dog comes over and licks my face. I smile and he sits next to me. I look at his collar and grab his tag.Cedar,Eldredge Mountain,Beckem Lee
"Beckem." I whisper. A chill meets my spine and I shiver. Not from being cold but because the name just falls from my tongue. My lips. I must admit that is a beautiful name.
I remove my blanket as I feel my body begin to burn. Cedar continues to lick my face until I start petting him. I stop and pull off my boots, getting up and setting them next to the door on the mat.
